Hi, my lovely witches, pagan and Wiccan friends!
Today you can celebrate Litha with me. Now what is the Summer solstice or Litha in its core and what do we celebrate besides the start of summer? Do you know how to celebrate Litha and what magick to do on the solstice?
I want to share some folklore and pagan traditions with you, give you Summer solstice ritual ideas, and of course, do some Litha-themed kitchen witchery!
In today's midsummer celebration we will watch the beautiful summer solstice sunrise, chat about some pagan customs of the Germanic and Celtic tribes, craft a joyful cottage witch Litha spell, learn about Midsummer and the different customs and traditions surrounding the summer solstice, go strawberry picking, bake a delicious sun-spiral charlotte cake with fresh strawberries, elderflower and basil, learn about the elder tree, the German fae and the pagan goddess Freya / Hulda and celebrate Litha together.
In other words: a wonderfully, magical witch vlog for this pagan holiday :)

The cool damp towel is a game changer for rolled cakes. I have always made them almost too thick to roll because it would tear. Telling me about the cool damp cloth was an epiphany! I always love your photography in each video.

we just celebrated summer solstice... and we made beautiful fruit platter with mango, pineapple, strawberries, and dragon fruit... and used as our center piece for our altar. [we are in south america semi-tropical] the ritual was sun going down about power and gratitude for what has been and what is yet to come - we chanted the name of the person/kid in the center raising power and then came the thunder and rain to close it, but the sun still shinning as it went behind the mountain. talk about high-energy!

Although I live in the alpine regions of Bavaria, I didn't know about the custom with the strawberries on the cows heads 😃 There is so much more to learn! Thank you for creating, I love learning from you!!! I found stones/ crystals for the first time in my life washing up on the beach, just before that I molded the sun in the sand and covered it with crystal chips as a offering… I seen rainbows at sun rise… it was a truly magical solstice!!🙌🏻🥰💯✨

Your Litha cake looks delicious and it's lovely to look at. I will have to try making it, though that will be at a later date. Strawberries are my favorite also since childhood and, it seems, they may also be your son's favorite as well. He is absolutely adorable. Bavaria is beautiful. I remember, when growing up, I was always reading the Grimm Brother's stories, lol. Bavaria fascinated me with its rich history and tales of it being haunted.... There was a war for such a long time that some humans and witches were not seeing eye to eye and that reality is coming to an end for our freedom but not use for us for everyone. I have noticed a trend in my witchcraft purchases globally and in fashion that has been going on with a great world healing and manifesting to back to our fairytale lives. Thank you for this lovely video. I'm terribly upset to find that your video and not my own mind was what reminded me that it's almost Midsummer. I've been struggling a lot this year dealing with a narcissist trying to sabotage my world, and this week has been pretty rough. I didn't remember Midsummer. I can't wait for a day when I'm free of him entirely and can focus again on my Craft. Thank you for the reminder.

What you do here is wonderful, it is so good to see Witchcraft positively represented, it's been a "bad thing" for so long and witches have been in hiding for far too long. Thank you for having the bravery to be so open with your "Gift" as my great-grandmother called it.

I'm so happy I stumbled across your channel! I definitely connect with your more scientific views on the craft and its therapeutic and psychological benefits. I've been practicing for about a year, and most of the resources here on KZfaq I found to be somewhat pretentious, treating witchcraft like something to almost be feared. Your very hands on, eclectic, and free style is so refreshing and inspiring 😊 I can't wait to continue enjoying your videos! P.S. I absolutely love your inclusion of local herbs and mythology in your work! My father's family was also from southern Germany so I love finding out little facts about the region.

There are many great books most of them will however only exist in German language or Latin, plus the really good researched ones are all from the 1800s - so a bit hard to read. My favourites however are: Deutsche Mythology by Jacob Grimm and Sagen und Legenden aus der Oberpfalz by Franz X. v. Schönwerth

In Slavic Paganism in Ukraine (half of my background, but I'm also half German) we have Kupala. Flower crowns for daaaaaays with ferns and poppies and other herbs. It's supposed to be incredibly hot here on Vancouver Island for the next 2 days, so there will be lots of swimming in the river. I developed a strawberry allergy after chemo and it's the saddest thing ever because I miss strawberry desserts SO MUCH!
