Hunderennen müssten aus Großbritannien kommen. Aber praktiziert wird es ja auch hierzulande.

It's the Wiener dog. The dogs shaped like a hotdog, because they're shaped as such which are German that became one of the hidden Germanesque side of American culture. Overall, it's just fun and the planners have to come up with something,

Lol, its german dogs, thats right. The breed is traditional german as well as Rottweiler, germ. Shepard, and many others - but why you call it "Wiener" Then? Lol. Wien = Vienna. Thats Austria. Ok, you also named the meanest, bad Man a german, even he (A.H.) was an austrian. Nevermind, no waste to talk about idiots, lol (no matter which nation). Btw, we call this breed "Dackel". No transliteration found for this. They are well used in hunting (Rabbits, ducks). And they are very stubborn, lol. Not really recommended for family with baby or lil kids. A well known special (funny ironic) toy we use to place it at backview window in car. Its called Wackel-Dackel. Wackel means wagging( wiggle. Like a tailwag. In this case the toy wags with its head (Spring assembled inside). So far so good. Prosit. Ois, zwoa, gsuffa ))

Most of the german stuff is so "american" you'd probably not realize it. But besides that, please be respectful. WW1 pro-white american / british-american demanded (in order to try and resway power) that to be american, you could only speak english. For many, the language and dialects were forced to go underground and most of our grandparents remember their own parents or grandparents not passing it on but speaking with other adults in order to keep the kids from understanding. A lot of traditions were lost, while others just became something of the facade of american culture. Symphonies, Kindergarten, clubs, sports halls/gymnasiums, going out on Sunday was actually something brought by Germans who would go out with family and ignored the british/puritanistic thought of staying at home, among a large number of other things including but not limited to family reunions, passing on the family history (beyond family bibles that were brought over from Germany), in some family's like my own, my grandparents remember when you could often walk through their Evansville, IN suburb and smell the Sauerkraut wafting out of the windows of all the German-American family homes. My mom grew up with Spaetzle and a regional desert called Stirum. Just finally saw it for the first time also spelled like Stierrum. All in all, please be respectful. A lot of the visible german things were hidden away during the wars. People were killed. Someone trying to reconnect is something I think is thoughtful instead of just forgetting where the family/they themself came from.

@Saul Bachman I think the best thing to do in those situations and you're more than welcome to pass along the tip is to inform Europeans who do get defensive, that it's >>hyphenated culture

@@saulbachman5031 Either way, people really oughtn't be going and trying to make fun of or delegitimize someone else's identity just because they may not understand it. I'm speaking beyond gender and sexuality politics, but it's true. It'd be better not just go to someone from Mexico and tell them they're Spanish or whatever because that's what makes most sense to me - if someone is going to identify as this or that ethnically, idk. It's not that smart to try playing the ethnicity police.
