In this video I go over in detail how to change the serpentine and A/C accessory belt on a Nissan 350Z (VQ35DE). Hopefully this helps you if you have a worn belt or some squeaking like I had.

Great video 🤘🏻🤘🏻. Quick question, what’s the point of loosening the tensioner bolts ?
@therealjessescheel3 жыл бұрын
You have to loosen the tensioner bolts to get the belt off. To tight otherwise.

I would always tighten the belt first unless the car has done high mileage in which case just change them out.

I couldn't get the socket between the pully and the fan shroud, not enough space. Back on the ground and off to the store for a slimmer socket.

One other question-why would you need to loosen the holding nuts on the pulleys? I replaced the belts on mine quite a few years ago and don’t recall doing that.

That’s how you loosen the tension on the pulley.

My 350z squeaks on cold start ups too and then goes away could it be my belt too ?
@therealjessescheel3 жыл бұрын
Could be your belts tension. It will shrink a little when its cold. Pry nothing to worry about but I am not a master mechanic. 🙃

I have the same noise but mine only makes it when I’m decelerating idk if I should replace the belt or maybe it’s something else?
@therealjessescheel3 жыл бұрын
I would say try messing with the tension first. Your belts may be a little loose if they’re squeaking on deceleration. Also make sure there’s no oil or grease on them.
@qazzz33553 жыл бұрын
This is the same sound when I bought my z it started making the noise
@therealjessescheel3 жыл бұрын
Check your belt tension first. May just be loose or tight depending on climate.
@HiThere-bu2fg2 жыл бұрын
Did you have nonstop squeaking or did your car only squeal during a cold start? My 350 only squeals during the cold start but goes away completely after a few seconds and doesn’t squeal at all when it’s warmed up. Trying to figure out if I need a pulley somewhere or if I just need belts. Great video
@therealjessescheel2 жыл бұрын
Play with the tensioner. You can pry solve it without belts.
@Luv-dq5th Жыл бұрын
Did you figure it out? Mine is doing the exact same thing
@HiThere-bu2fg Жыл бұрын
@@Luv-dq5th yes I changed my belts a few weeks ago and the squealing stopped. I figured it was the belts to begin with because a bad pully will constantly make noise whereas mine would only do it on a cold start. My belts were probably 7 years old so it was time. The hot dry summers in Vegas destroy anything rubber pretty quick.
