That was quite the best demonstration I have ever seen,no annoying music, clearly shows how the job is done and tells me what sockets I need before I start The Workshop manual is nothing like as easy to follow Many thanks

You're right, never do something you don't feel confident about especially if it's directly linked to your safety. But I'm glad you find my video clear enough to give it a try :¬).

Having trouble getting the discs off, the torxs 55 screws are a pain in the arse they seem to be in there real good and can't shift them even with a extender bar and soaked in penetration oil! Gr8 video it's helped loads 👌
@fab-b98186 жыл бұрын
These screws can really be tough so take your time, use a lot of penetrating fluid and be carefull with the Torx bit, it can break if it's really too hard. If they still don't budge, try heating them up with a flame. Hope you'll manage and glad my video helped ;¬).

I have a question i need your advice since you are from france I just moved here in france and I'm planing to buy a car I'm thinking BMW E46 or MERCEDES C200 what do you think? or what do you suggest a good car in france, Thanks again
@fab-b98187 жыл бұрын
Welcome to France then ! I am a big BMW fan so that's what I would suggest but I don't know anything about Mercedes. Are you looking for a diesel or petrol engine ? Powerfull or not necessary. Do you drive a lot, more than 20000 km a year ?
@mohd34147 жыл бұрын
Anyone can do that ! Anyone can do that ! Diesel , not powerful, just a good looking car with reasonable price and reliable I Think 20000 km sounds right , i heard the E46 need a lot of maintenance is that right?
@fab-b98187 жыл бұрын
I know much more about petrol engines, and they are very reliable. The diesel ones aren't too bad but some have had some issues and it's good to know if the problem has been fixed or not. I'd recommend a 320d after 2002, with a good service history. Ask to see if the turbo and the injection pump have been replaced because they are the main problems you can encounter with diesel E46. Apart from that you can find the 2.0 diesel engine in all models, sedans, coupe, convertible and touring.

Great VID I should be able to tackle this job without any issues, have you done a video on changing the fuel filter on a 1.4HDI 206? This is the filter next to the battery I can only find one video and I believe it's in Italian but I am having an issue removing the filter .Merci JC.

Thanks ! I've never changed the fuel filter on 206 hdi so I can't help you with that. Good luck for that, I'm sure you'll manage.
@mgfer63135 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think you are referring to the oil filter housing. You just need to get some access by twisting the air intake. I believe it is a 27mm nut. I find using a universal joint to be handy. Note the housing material is on the fragile side, so be careful not to crack it.

Hello there, this is a great video, wish I had seen it and given it a go before I took it to a mechanic to change my discs and pads. That brings me to my question, I've also changed my CV joint, my front left wheel bearing and as said, discs and pads, on both front wheels. Still, I constantly hear this noisy clicking coming from my front left wheel, sometimes it squeals. Squealing mostly stopped so now it's just clicking all the time and when driving at low speeds it's even more noticeable due to low engine noise. Can you help me and point me in the right direction, a few other local mechanics haven't been able to help? Oh and clicking stops whenever I hit the brakes. Looking forward to your advice. Thanks in advance. edit: Peugeot 206, 2002, 1.4 XS
@fab-b98185 жыл бұрын
Hi, glad you appreciated my video. Next time you'll do it yourself. Concerning the noise, hard to tell when you can't see for yourself, maybe a sticky calipper, keeping one pad always in slight contact ? Bleeding the brakes could be a wise thing to do. Do the brake hoses look OK ? Good luck with that.
@lanicor78355 жыл бұрын
@@fab-b9818 Also tried changing the break hose but once it did nothing, switched the old one back. Fluid seems fine and when I brake the noise is completely gone, and the car brakes fine, in a straight line. They also said the calipers are fine, the disc doesn't seem to be overheating, I've done around 3.000km with the new discs and rotors. Started about 500km after the switch. Any ideas? Could it be terrible quality of the break pads, or perhaps a faulty installment process?

Great video, you earned another subscriber! But I’m confused about Where to get parts for My 1.6L 206. And should i always go for OEM parts? I’m from Denmark If that makes any difference. Have a great Day!

I just Saw your other video about changing sparkplugs. So Let’s take Those as an example. How Would you find the right ones for My 1.6L 16v 206? I have heard sparkplugs have different gap sizes between the sparking area, and some last longer than others and etc. I need a little guidance :)
@fab-b98186 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry Ireally don't know where you can find tje aprts from Denmark, I live in France. For the plugs, the best to do if you are unsure is to take one out, see the reference and the socket size. With that you will be able to choose a matching brand.

Hi there, hope all is well. I was wondering if u can help me again with my Peugeot 206. I'm having issues with my clutch sticking to the floor board from time to time. It happens at random times like when I'm stopped at a traffic light & I have to move. The car stalls because when I take my foot of the clutch it does't go back all the way up so the car jolts forward & I the gear stick get's locked in 1st gear & doesn't want to move. I have to switch off the car, pump the clutch, start it again, out the handbrake up pump the clutch again then after that it works fine. I popped the hood & checked the fluid & it's not leaking. I also checked the pedal, it seems to be fine but I did notice an adjustment bolt on it for how much the clutch can be pushed up. Please kindly assist.
@fab-b98186 жыл бұрын
Hi ! On your clutch cable the is an automatic ajustment system and it can be faulty. Your problem seems to come from that. Changing the cable should solve your problem. You'll tell me how it went.

Hi there, I need some assistance with my Peugeot 206 1.4 Popart 3-door. I had an issue with the engine overheating because the temperature switch was faulty so I asked a random mechanic to fix it as the engine started steaming. The guy bypassed the fan & it's been on ever since (a few months), I eventually got a new temp switch & fan switch put in but now I cannot locate where it was bypassed so it's constantly on while the car is on. How can I solve this issue? Where could the fan be bypassed and connected to? It's not connected to the battery or the engine fuse box
@fab-b98186 жыл бұрын
Hi, I see, check on the temperature sensor connector, ther's probably a piece of wire doing the bypass. If not there follow the wire from the temperature sensor and you should end up finding it. Good luck.

hello there. just wanted to ask wat is that yellow fluid in that tub qhat tou put there at the end. thank you
@fab-b98187 жыл бұрын
Hi, if you mean under the bonnet, that's the brake fluid. You want to check the level and remove some fluid if there is too much after the the pads have been installed. If you mean on the back of the brake pads and on the calipers, that's copper grease (high temperature grease) to prevent the brakes from squeaking.
@jakubfilipek29937 жыл бұрын
Yes that copper grease. Thank you. But if you change it and put it new ones it shouldn't be squeaking right? Because 3 days ago I changed mine and I didn't use it. That's why I was asking. Thanks
@fab-b98187 жыл бұрын
Even new, brakes can be noisy, it's because of the vibrations between the back of the pads and the calipper, not between the pads and the discs, although if some particles get stuck it can squeak because of that until the particle is worn or ejected. The grease can avoid the noise due to vibrations but is not compulsory.

Fantastic. Thanks for your help :)

Hi there, I have an issue on my Peugeot 206. When accelerating the revs go up very high even though the speed is low. When I change gears the rev counter goes down for a second then shoots up again, this happens throughout shifting gears. It's only better on 5th gear but as soon as I slow down it does the same thing. Revs shoot up while the speed is low, even as speed picks up the revs are very very high. What is causing this and how can I fix it?
@fab-b98187 жыл бұрын
Hi, does it do that even when you don't accelerate or only when you have your foot on the gas ?
@sandisilesomnono1377 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the reply. It's only when I have my foot on the gas. The idle is fine
