Thank you for the overview. Juist completed for a 2013 Explorer and followed your lead. Worked perfectly. Just remember to grease the contact points between caliper and pad.

You forgot to use lube on contact points, pull out caliper bolts and clean/lube them. If they get stuck then you pads wont wear evenly.

Those pads look fine....If you don't feel any grooves on those rotors you don't need to turn. them.

Getting ready to do this job on my Explorer, how many tons do your jack stands support? I have 2 ton stands and I'm a little nervous about lifting both sides. Also, did you keep the jack on the car the whole time? Thanks for your help.

Good time to spray the rubber boots with a preservative to prevent cracking and bigger repair bills down the road.

The first bolt you tightened was to hold the caliper bracket, and the torque should have been 111 FootPounds.....

I ended with a squishy pedal after this, all I did was replace the pads and push in the piston

Dealing with the same issue right now. Unless the master is bad you need new rear calipers (very common issue I'm told by a senior Ford tech) or you got an air pocket somewhere - or both.

@@jamesmazurek2545 I replaced the pads on all 4 corners and that's when the squishy break pedal was first noticed. Since then I have bleed the front brakes and my braking power came back, I think I need to bleed the rear to get everything on the same page. The front was having a weird contact pattern and has since then corrected with the bleeding of the brakes.

@@jgutie4377 yeah. talked to a few mechanic buddies tonight since this and got the same response, there's air somewhere in the line. Just have to old school bleed, bleed, bleed, repeat.

Nice video thank you. But you need to clean and lube the pins with silicone paste and the break pads contact points with copper anti seize. Also put some lock thread on thise screws.
