Was swapping out a chrome derby cover and installing a new willie g black derby cover and figured i would show you how to do it. This should work for most 2018+ soft tail Harley Davidsons. The bike i used in the video is a 2022 Harley Davidson fat bob, hope this diy shows you how easy it is to do yourself.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been trying to find one on a M8 Softail to see how the gasket sits. Most I have seen are the touring models where the grove is in the derby cover.

Ordered the same covers , I'm still awaiting my derby cover and timing cover from Harley when I bought my street bob on the 6th June said I should have them in 10 days.......still waiting

This one is 99$ one from princess auto :) just a simple scissor style jack

I changed mine and it had a minor leak. Fixed now. Do you suggest putting more fluid in? It was not alot. Ty

If you put to much fluid in it isnt good either. It actually will cause finding neutral well, the bike is running extremely hard

note from a HD Fat Bob 2014 rider: you need an new packing for this derby cover on the second-last model (with 2 headlights).

You don’t think you should use Loctite when putting that back on?

If you do very little and only like purple or yellow so it breaks loose easily or you will trip the heads when pulling the screws out. They are tiny and very little torque spec

My heads keep on breaking in my screws while using a torque wrench what am I doing wrong

@ghostlyrich Same bike(in black),same derby cover and I had a little weeping.1st service with main dealer Thursday and its worse now.I don't have a t wrench under 5 Nm so doing it by feel.I might be too careful but stripping scares me.
