I bought a MityVac pneumatic oil extractor many years ago and simply remove the dip stick and put the MityVac hose in its place, fire up the compressor and change the oil filter while the oil is being sucked out of the oil pan up through the dip stick tube. No jacking up the car, no removing the drain plug, no muss, no fuss. Oh wait, the F30 doesn't have a dip stick. My bad. ;^)

Hahahahahh, that’s the same scenario I went thru. I love my oil extractor pump but couldn’t use it on this darn car

lol, I just did my own oil change a few weeks ago.. best piece of small advice I can give is to jack up the car and have it evenly lifted on 2 jack stands.. I tried to cut corners and just get 1 side of the car up, when draining my oil it started just fine but when the stream started to thin out towards the end, it started to run on top of the belly cover/panel and started dripping out the other side that it was angled towards.. made a bit of a mess.. I've done plenty of oil changes, just never owned a newer car that has a belly cover like this 🤦‍♂️

Hahaha Jason, you got to make sure it’s leveled To have our job happen properly. Just like we can’t digest food correctly if we are laying down and eating

Bmw needs to stay away from high tech stuff, they have very finicky electronics.. just look at the bmw e65 e66 7 series and all the electrical issues they had

When i need to change my engine oil ? I checked the measurement of engine oil its in the middle line so do u still need to add ?

How reliable has the n20 engines been in these 3 series?

These and n20 and n26 engines have camshaft issues as well as timing chain issues, it’s fairly common on 2012 to 2014 F30 models as well as other BMW with the same engine

Hi ! I am considering using Costco/Kirkland Signature 5w30 in my 328i/N20. How is the engine performance with the costco oil ? I usually fill up with Fuchs Oil or Pennzoil Euro.

Hi, after using the kirkland oil in 3 of my vehicles.. I would not recommend it. It’s subpar quality, and one of engines would have a dry start with that oil. Just go with mobil1 atleast

Use liqui moly B FE 5w30 or the liqui moly special Tec LL 5w30. Those oils are the absolute best for these engines.
