How To Change Gas Boot Struts - Renault Clio 2

2 жыл бұрынWhile changing the high level brake light on this Clio 2 I discovered the boot gas struts had completely failed, which may or may not have led to the light failing.
Better safe than sorry... lets get them changed.

Thank you so much, after watching this video I had the confidence to order some new struts & have just replaced them & have a fully operational boot again now! Very happy!

I remember I replaced mine, but didn't notice how strong they were. With one strut it's more than enough. With both on, hold that boot lid until it opens fully, or you're gonna have to go hunt for your teeth a couple yards away

Just swapped mine in the snow, about -5c in under 10 minutes. So simple once you know how ;-)

Thanks for video...my Renault Clio tailgate strut rattles ..does it mean it need replacement?

They certainly shouldn't rattle. Make sure it isn't the boot hinges or the strut mounting loose. Even so as long as the strut operates good enough for you and you can live with the noise you don't need to replace.
