Hy guys, in this video we are going to show you how to change your headlights, its a simple process and if you follow up you cant mess up

God, I wish everyone did Walk-throughs like this. No heavy breathing guy going into 30 minute explanation of why he had pizza last night, no giving obvious ass instructions like they're talking to a 2 year old, no shaky unrecognizable video footage. Just clear pointing at what needs to be done. Music is a bit annoying though, but that's why there's a mute option. 10/10

Thanks guys! I'm doing this first thing tomorrow morning. I bought a pair of Taiwan- made direct replacements for $139 off Amazon. My current headlights plastic lenses are peeling! This looks like an easy job using a drill driver, extensions, 10mm socket, T30 & T25 bits.

Why no wiring harness connection on the passenger side headlight housing when you were removing old lights ? Would it not be best to test new lights before putting the bumper back on and screwed tight ?

Is there a procedure to properly align or bore-sight the headlights? If they are installed a fraction of a millimeter out of position, this becomes a glaring flaw to oncoming traffic and other drivers looking at your car in the rear view mirror. I appreciate this video. Good work.

Something you missed was that there is a screw for the bumper in each of the lower vents either side too. You showed the right one but didn't see you unscrew them. Same screw as the ones behind the grill. In the UK the grill isn't screwed in either it just pops out. Great video other than that. Thanks!

I know this is some 7 yrs old video ,but changing headlamps from factory to led lamps ,your no longer be using vw lamp adjuster on the dashboard which is motorised ,so what do you do with the electronics - as new lamps surly won’t be a straight forward switch ?

Did these require mods for the turn signal wiring? Nothing on the wiring in the otherwise very helpful video. Looking at some headlights that require Eu adapter or splicing for turn signals.

Where did you get the assembly? I can't find any like that anywhere. I can only find a couple on amazon, but they don't seem nearly as good quality as these.

These were made with a kit bought from ebay, so they are original but modified

You don;t need to do all that just to change a bulb...just a lot of patience and small hands. Removing the battery on that side will help a lot. I replaced all of my bulbs in less than hour...lost a bit of blood in the process and taught my daughter a few naughty words, but it all worked fine. Like everyone else, I would like to buy better lights for my Golf (brilliant car, let down by rubbish lights), but I don't know where to find them.

Yeah after some investigation i figured out that the light compartment can be opened with a small plastic-metal mechanism from the inside. Just need to be careful to manipulate the plastic pieces and the bulb can be replaced in minutes without further disassembling.

+Kacerac Pozdrav, ima na internetu za narucit kit s kojim obicne farove pretvoris u ove sa lecom, treba rezat plastiku i varit open, dosta komplicirano, zato smo ih mi kupili od covjeka koji se time bavi za 150eura odprilike

simple process? Perhaps some may think so. I change my headlight in 30 seconds without taking my car apart. What ever happened to just pop the hood and the bulb access is right there?

My mistake and apologies for misunderstanding. I have seen vehicles where the process for replacing the bulbs was described as being similar to what you were doing.

Great video - thanks for taking the trouble to share! Out of interest : it looks like you replaced the OE (dual halogen reflector) headlights with something that has a projector in the low-beam position. Can you share the details of what replacement headlight you used ? Also, is the projector a halogen or HID/Xenon ? I was amused that you also battled with those !^&%!&^%*&^%! stupid plastic retaining straps that hold down the top of the headlight (outer strap on left-hand headlight). Man, they are rubbish .....

Ah, so you modded the OE headlight with a bi-Xenon HID projector. I know it's off-topic, but it would be great if you could share details of the parts you used. I'm interested because I'm busy contemplating doing the same thing and shopping around for parts. Been looking at the mini-H1 v7.0 HID projectors with the "mini-Gatling Gun" shroud, both from Morimoto. However it seems the mini-H1 retrofit is a bit difficult because it's too long to fit into the space where the H7 lamp went. What was your experience ? Would be a great topic for a "howto" video since there isn't much on the Golf 4 specifically. But I guess it's a bit too late for that now! ;-)

So, simply take apart half the car....... haha, what bullshit this video is. you just need to remove the battery to access the passenger side and the drivers is easier. took me ten mins. on my own. and im shit.
