Reason why you are struggling to wind back the piston is because you are forcing the hydraulic fluid back through the system under pressure, fit a brake bleeder kit onto the nipple and release nipple then you will find screwing the piston back takes no effort at all.

Or unscrew the cap on the brake fluid tank?

Is it ok to put wd40 on the rubber dust seal? I thought oil made it perish and only silicone grease should be used on brake rubbers.

It will be fine

Felicitari pt video! Am un Megane 3 si are frana electrica de mana! ai idee cum se deblocheaza pistonasele?
@GicaPhp4 жыл бұрын
Daca nu ai motoras individual pe fiecare etrier, ar trebuie sa ai in portbagaj un cablu de urgenta care elibereaza frana de mana.

@@GicaPhp Are pe fiecare etrier!
@GicaPhp4 жыл бұрын
Daca ai motoras pe fiecare etrier, trebuie sa dai roata jos, desfaci motorasul de pe etrier si apoi cu imbus sa torx poti retrage pistonasul invartind de acel surub de multe multe ori :D

No copper pasta anymore, like in the old days? :)

Where would you put copper pasta?

In the old days, 79s, I put it on the back of the brake pads. Peugeot 304

@@TheMrBennitoHave you ever seen any grease on any new car on the pads? on the carrier bolts? or wheel studs? 'cause these days, everyone goes mental with grease... there is no need and never meant to have grease on the brake pads or wheel studs. But, what do I know!

Ones that do you either need a £140 device to put the car into maintenance mode to retract the electric handbrake motor, or remove the electrical connection, take a spare car battery and using a jumper wire on the terminals, you'll either wind it out or in, (you'll see the brake piston move out immediately if you have it wired wrong way) switch the polarity of the wires. takes about 15 seconds to wind it in all the way in, you hear it stop, so remove wires right away and use a clamp to squeeze piston in. After installing new pads, press brake pedal to push pistons out and then turn car on and manually activate the electric parking brake.., might have to release and set it a second time to get system to wind all the way in as this happened to me.. Got a fault light initially but went away.
