How to change rear lights on Range Rover L405 & Light types and options explained.

In this video we remove the rear lights from our Range Rover L405 and look at fitting the Autobiography and 2018 options including the wiring changes needed to make the 2018 rear lights fit the early models.

Great video thank you. The two 10mm bolts on my 2016 were torx heads, luckily I had a 27mm one to hand (was a tad loose but did the job fine) Also didn’t need the trim tool as plenty of plastic to get a hand grip and gently slide light back and out of popper holders. Took 10 minutes and voila,

NO! The clear square lenses are NOT for Autobiography (all L405 Vogue and Autobiography had the red square lenses) BUT in fact for SVAutobiography pre-facelift

@1:40 MY2015 autobiography had the red surround as well, wasn't in that white. That said, I thought MY2015 Autobiography had emergency braking as standard, but I've seen one which doesn't seem to have it.

Would Have loved to see exactly how you removed the Plug/Pins to re-wire so that way no ones destroys them in the process...

@Team Stream hi. Yes i did. Very simple. It's going to feel as if you might be using too much force but don't worry, once the 'orange/red' colored restraining clip is removed they come out fairly easy.

Your videos and explanations are amazing. Loving the great work. Could you please do a video on how to remove or replace Range Rover Vogue L405 reverse camera. Mine is not working. Just bought the car and did not notice the reverse camera working which is my fault. Now I need to get it fixed. It’s a 2015 mode Range Rover Vogue . Please can you explain what could be reasons a reverse camera could stop. Thanks in advance.

Very helpful- thx!!! My blinker on the dash now goes really fast, the actual light on the back of the car blinks properly, but on the dash and the noise is like 3 times the speed and pretty annoying.. Anyone know what to do?

You purchased aftermarket tail lights and need to add a resistor to fix the fast blinking.

Are you doing the front lights? I would like to convert mine to LED Matrix + Laser. The standard lights are useless compared to the old L322 on the 2013 RR L405

Hi - the front lights are a much bigger deal - you need to change the bumper and front grille and also the connector plugs are different. Getting the LED matrix lights to work would be complex as i guess it need to integrate with the camera etc. There are people that have done the conversion and i believe there is a conversion module on the market already.

No instead I came up with a much cheaper solution. I installed 2X light bars behind the Grill, installed an SVO Grill to allow the light to pass through, I have both light bars wired up to trigger from the main beam head lights, so I now have 10X more light output, and it looks factory OEM and works with the automatic headlights also.

I recently got these tail lights upgraded to L405 2018 style and everything works except for the LH side marker ? So weird

There are 2 versions of this lamp - with and without side marker lamp. Only USA version has side marker indicator

I bought these separately because one light cracked so I replaced it but I made the mistake of buying a single light trying to the save $$ should have not done this because now it doesn't match and I will have to spend more $$$ to now get a matching pair. FML

Désolé, mon français n'est pas très bon - même si je passe beaucoup de temps en Normandie! Nous ne connaissons pas vraiment beaucoup d’entreprises en France qui se spécialisent dans Land Rover / Range Rover - je devrais peut-être créer une entreprise en France!

So - it looks like the wires all move one space anti-clockwise. A bit of a daft idea really - I presume they just wanted to siscourage upgrading the lights - or someone made a mistake and they just stuck with it ;-)

IMHO the original lights look much better. Especially with the little side marker at night. The 2018's look cheapo.

I am sure you will not be alone .. some people like lights for their appearance... some just like the change... some want to have the latest...could be basis for a PhD study !
