Usually, Brother, you can get 2 flanges and a y pipe and have an exhaust shop make a pipe for you Flowmaster makes y pipes that can be fabricated into a full pipe for a cat. I would also recommend replacing with a 3 inch cat. GM generally screws up their exhaust systems on their high performance cars. This is one of the flaws on their 305 camaros. NEXT TIME you do this, get gloves from the auto parts store, so you can protect your hands."

I had thought about putting headers on my 86 Z28 305 TPI but after watching your video I don't think I will attempt it.. I have to give you an A for effort though. I liked your video and will be waiting for new content from you.

My 89 iroc has a 305 ho from a 86 monte also have headers that go into glass pack then dump out als have a edelbrock intake and a demon 625 cfm 4 barrell with a mild cam it sounds decent

I've been debating doing this as I need to replace the valve stem seals where I'll need easy access to the spark plugs so may as well rip the exhaust all off at the time. You are lucky you only took the skin off two of your knuckles, I managed that just replacing the power steering pump.

Did u let them warm up b4 taking the bolts off? Or just did it cold

I have a 83 Z28 with a 305 I got Hedman shorties I want to install but…after watching the video I’m not going there I’ll save up and pay a shop you’re brave I commend you for tackling the install

i have the same car bud. i put carb intake and headers. next is burnouts in the 5 speed. sounds fun to me.. i plan on doing a ls truck engine swap . you need to stop being so hard on yourself. im just learning this mechanic stuff as well. keep trying til you get it. unless you have labor cash then pay for it. i watch a lot of vdiy videos.

I had an automatic 89 305 camaro in HS. A few years later i got a 91, white with red interior 5spd. I had it for about 6 months until some DB rear-ended tf out of it and totaled it. Had just rebuilt the rearend and put a posi diff in it too 😖 sure do miss it.

I think she'll sound a little meaner and cuz it'll be more airflow coming out

Headers are always easier if you use an engine puller and raise the engine up and the to the left or right Depending on which header your working on

Hopefully you will get a pressure washer and clean the engine bay completely before doing work…it will make your life better
