We just got a Frigidaire Gallery Range and above the range microwave last week. I could not believe the ugly lighting that the microwave provided over our cooktop. Cold and blue. We added the orange photo gel as you suggested and it helped immensely! It does seem like it dimmed our light somewhat, but I can live with that. Thank you for the tip!

Love that you shared. This was the solution I had come up with as well. Wish the light had several setting options.

You are a godsend! I considered putting some packing tape over it and coloring it with a yellow or orange marker.

My new microwave in my new kitchen was just connected and I was so dismayed by the color of the integrated LEDs vs the 2700k under-cabinet light strips I insisted upon. I have used amber automotive Lens Repair tape (a 3M product) for other applications as well. Photo gels are a great idea.

Just ordered some gel sheets (different brand) and I’m hoping this fixes the problem. I despise that awful bright white light! Thank you for sharing this. I never would have thought of this!

This is great. I just got a Bosch 500 series microwave and it uses the same 5304499540 LED assembly. I absolutely hate it, and was trying to see if there was a replacement LED that was closer to 2800k. I will definitely give this a try.

Going to try this with my LG over the range microwave. Don't like the blue white light from it at all. Way too harsh. Hope the gel works for ours.

Just curious to see the LED gel filter has stood up over time? We just had a GE Cafe microwave installed and it's surface light is a very blue/white led and the rest of my house is warm led. I purchased some Lee CTO filters and plan on giving this a try. Thanks for sharing :)

4000-4500k is a beautiful pleasant neutral white. I could live under that in my entire environment. That temperature of LEDs are uncommon and usually more expensive when found. The two temps for sale I see everywhere are the warm amberish 2800-3200k & the extreme 6000-6500k eye fatiguing bluish-white. I came here looking for a way to filter down a 6000k to neutral. The white LED color in the video appears to be at least 5500k or higher. Probably camera distortion. A translucent plastic film with the right tint seems to make effect or even better bouncing the LED light off a tinted white surface might do it and diffuse the reflective glare that LEDs give off.

Is there a paint on gel version of this?
