I have the same problem. Very frustrating

I've got an 84 anniversary edition and the gas gauge went out. My brother repairs the oem radios and tape decks, he also fixes the digital dash's. Google "Greg Balsley" we both live in North Texas.

Try checking the rear window wiper fuse

You can do a digital to analog swap so I'm sure you can do a analog to digital dash. The housing and shape of the digital dash is different then the analog though, the only thing I would see would be a problem is I don't think the analogs have the wiring for the digital dash Box (which is what powers the dash) BUT...nissan did put and leave most of the electronics and holes with caps for easier manufacturing. I did a manual swap on mine and all the holes and pieces were plug and play. I have 3 digi dashes and on the one from an 87, the shape of the dash is ALSO a different size from my 85 digi dash...so I guess it depends.

If you have clear light bulbs you can add whatever color film you would like, just make sure your car uses tinted sheets like the z, if not you can look into color light bulbs

ALZX first of all thanks for taking the time to respond, I appreciate that if anything Second I have the same digital dash, my original ECM wasn’t showing the gauge and after re soldering the tips of the green board it had barely lit up after hitting the dash a time or two and after a 4th time of soldering I burnt the board and ended up buying a new one once I had got my license My new one, off eBay from an ‘86 I believe, doesn’t show my gas gauge at all but everything else is functioning

ALZX so right now I’m doing a continuity test through my power sending unit,ECU, and when I connect 7 and 25 it displays! However it only displays when I do the continuity test between the two points

ALZX actually holy crap you wouldn’t believe it but I just put a bare copper wire and connected terminals 7 and 25 and it worked!!! Don’t know the electronics explanation behind that but it worked!

It's green from the factory

It's actually the opposite, they use redlights on submarines because it is the easiest color for your eyes to look at after looking at darkness, the dash is extremely bright tho and easy to read.
