Here since the x limit is from a to -a, you go from a to -a and see that theta is 180° that is pi

r is distance from origin to periphery of circle in polar coordinates which is equal to 0 at origin and r at the point where it touches the circle so the limits are from 0 to r or you can say 0 to a
