This is how to change the spark plug/clean the air filter on a Genuine Roughhouse 50 2 stroke. I used the tools that were supplied in the tool bag to do this job.

Time to do mine do thx for the video. My dealer closed up so its all on me now! BTW I add an oz of octane booster to a tank of 87 octane on a D- regulated Roughhouse. I can do 50mph at 217 pounds of my weight. I did the plugs now how to adjust front brakes on it?

Yes always Gap plug .. I have 3700 MI on my buddy 50.. the spark plugs still looks pretty good but decided to put a new one in.. when I checked the gap on the old plug it was much wider Gap than was supposed to be.. so I got the new plug.. motor seems to be running much better giving me more power

Periodically changing and checking spark plugs is something I'm going to start doing more often on all of my engines

how do you put the foam gasket back on it looks like its too long now i have some hanging out of the air box

Watching any carburetor rebuild/cleaning video should suffice because they're all really similar. Remove it, take the bowl off, remove the float and take pictures as you go so you can put it all back together exactly the same. Remove the jets, clean them and then reinstall.

Have you made a brake adjustment video for the Roughhouse? I need too, my dealer went out of business and I'm trying to do maintenance myself.

Thanks man is there a torque value for the plug?

Chris, the torque setting from the manual is 9-10ft pounds for the spark plug.

Also I checked the air filter the other day and noticed 2 tubes coming from the carburetor one going out under neath the air box and the other a u shaped one going down behind it, I assume one of these is an overflow drain but wahts the other and does it need to go to something

The hose going out from underneath the airbox is your carb fuel bowl drain which is opened by a flathead screw. The U shaped hose is an overflow I believe, mine has never been connected to anything.

@@slicemadiceconcerning the little hose that goes out the bottom yes it's an overflow I unfortunately tipped over my scooter one day and the little bit of gas came out to the little hose no harm done thanks God

BTW .. I put a little petroleum jelly on the threads.. so plug will be easier to remove next time

Hey brother, I just got one of these (sport edition) annoyingly fun to ride, so on my first 3 weeks I put 600 miles on it lol. How do I go by regular maintenance? I've never owned anything mechanical that isn't electric before. What should I be on the lookout for? I know sparkplugs, gear oil and air filter should be checked often. What else?

Brakes, suspension, any leaks of sorts too tbh. A cleaning of your carb helps with fuel and starting up every so often so check it out. There are some videos on motorcycle maintenance on yt and can pretty much be applied to scooters like this

Yes what Carp said, did yours come with a manuel? There should be recommended maintenance depending where you are for mileage. I have 4K on mine and still running great
