Wow, thanks a bunch!! After 7 years, there's still someone who managed to solve the problem after watching your video! My top shelf was narrower, so I couldn't tilt the water filter all the way down, almost 90 degrees! That was the issue preventing me from pulling it out. After removing the top shelf, it swung all the way down, and finally, I was able to take it out and replace it with a new filter!! Thank you so much! Ur a such a life saver!!

I dropped my filter down just like you and twisted and pulled with no luck. I decided to look on youtube before I broke something lol. As soon as you started to drop the shelf I knew what I was doing wrong. You saved me a little aggravation thanks.

You solved my issue of not being able to get older filter out, my filter cover was NOT all the way in down position. If the filter cover isn't all the way down the filter will not come out. Mucho thanks.

Hey MrZACATECANO100, Thank you for posting this video! I was struggling until I saw that I was not pulling on the water filter downwards enough. I was pulling towards me and it wasn't coming out. You saved me! My ice maker had stopped producing ice that I really needed to ice down my wife's shoulder after major shoulder surgery. That ice made her big pain go away. Sometimes the simple things like ice can make a world of difference if the situation needs it. Thanks!

The problem I encountered was that the lugs on the side of the new filter had to be shaved off a little to get the new filter to turn clockwise to tighten it. The old filter's lugs where mangled when I removed it initially with little effort. Note: old and new filter same manufacturer. Very strange. Anyway as far as dropping the shelf, that information was in the owners manual that I received. Imagine that. Anyway this was a good video that helped a lot of people.

Thank you, first time replacing our LG-LMX259 refrigerator water filter, for got how and pull, wiggle, scream and yell at the old filter with no result until cane upon your segment - the filter had to drop to the lowest position in order to let loose ... but why? I don’t care, it works and thanks to you; however the title out the stuck filter first and then the air filter but you start with the air first instead, I shout down your tube twice because of that, cause I thought you are talking about Air filter. Until I went back again! Thanks anyway, I already grab my hammer! Hahaha.
