Yeah I agree , im that guy that wont attempt something till my questions tryin to fill in blanks.Dom has a the better of explanatory videos. But I still dont know with a whole new motor and bigger when do valves get brought into a tolerance , when I got my cams They were aware of my build set up what they thought was best but never mentioned with all the mods tolerances are critical. It says to check springs at full open with a .015 feeler gauge and 3 at least need that tolerance minimum.Well they must have a high tec feeler gauge /3d imaging (lol) there is nowhere to slide a gauge in to do that.the list is endless at this point. I cant get any answers. Very frustrating when Im cams done and new m/t slicks to go play ... I

Its all your power curve being done with degreeing .Web cams has a cheat sheet you can get that tells where it will change by the calculations they give.. Gave me a much broader spectrum to tinker with...

Well I have new cams and adjustable sprockets . So i used the crank dowel that the timing advance aligns with put that straight up then dropped in cams then used the cut out on end of cams facing each other ,then loosened cams sprockets and got the cyl.2and 3 parallel lighty tightend then used the piston stop.combined 32 /16 is where i set the pointer .checked it again 16 good number.Moved my pointer to zero. Now web cams says zero lash when finding lobe center not sure .. because i was told to also plasti-gaugw piston to valve clearance after i degree cams? Im lost

Your going 1.0mm(10 on dial indicator) before and after the lobe center on the dial indicator. The lobe center in almost flat so the dial indicator will read 0 for a few degrees (floating) if you have the lobe center directly centered on the bucket, not allowing you to get the exact degree of the lobe center, so going 1.0mm (10 on dial indicator) before and after adding the numbers and dividing by 2 will give you the exact number between the 2 numbers allowing you to find the exact center of the lobe on the degree wheel

Thanks for responding, my bike is the old school gs1100es 1983. Did mtc 1166 kit 12:5 to 1 pistons, I put 1.5 intake and 1.0 exh.valves in stainless, hardwelded rockers, and web cams their 212 grind ,I did a port and polish. Anyway, I hv never even watched someone do a degreeing job.Your video is way simple to understand..Trying to read web cams instructions was way to many question from me than answers.So Thanks again Dom.. 10 is just a simple number u can use 15 or 20 doesn't matter. U just have to go the same distance on both side of the lobe center to find the lobe center. U can't use 0 because the lobe center is almost flat at the top and will idle at 0 for a certain amount of distance while turning your degree will and will lead to an inaccurate reading.
