You don't have to remove the battery to test. The + is on the top so touch red lead to top and black lead to metal chassis

These batteries cause problems when they drop below 3v.

When I'm turning on my pc doesn't turn on but when I'm remove the cmos then put it back again, my pc starts turning on. Does this means i need to replace my cmos?

Did you solve this issue? New PSU and amber light is on, but no start. I'm hoping it's not my motherboard.

Lick the edge where your tongue will make contact with positive and negative (top & bottom) & if you feel ticklish/weird. Still has charge.

@@troll-official9994 but you don't want to trust that method. Unless you feel nothing when testing with your tongue, you'll need to replace it for sure.

@@ajproart2 Yeah i just got a new CMOS Battrey and unlike my old CMOS Battrey,the ticklish feeling was pretty strong.

You're not mentioning which are the positive and negative points in battery holder while fixing the battery.

shiny side is + you put it in the computer + side up.

You can't properly check an older battery without a load on it. Checking it with a multimeter isn't checking with a load... unless the multimeter has a battery load capability in it.
