So the car will run on just the fuse?

so i have the same situation as you where with the fuse in the connecter it only cranks and without the fuse, ews box plugged in or not, it doesn't even crank. does this mean that my ews box has gone bad and i need to replace it? i was thinking of getting a new one from the junk yard and programing it to my key. will this work?

Good morning. I have a start sequence problem on my BMW E46. On stage 1, all the lights on the dashboard light up as if we were in stage 2. And in stage 2 it remains the same. Then in step 3 it starts normally. So, I would like to fix the problem from step 1 and step 2. If you have any idea. Thanks in advance.

Can you tell us what this means? What needs to be repaired? Is it something within the EWS?

I have a 2007 bmw x3 I had it parked for a month and prior to that I never had no starter issue. I check the grounds and the starter to see if it’s getting 12v it is. But there is a white powee wire in the fuse box and driver side I’m not getting any power. But when I power probe it. It cranks right up. I check the ignition switch wire for starter with the key on and I’m not getting any readings. But when I get a wire a job with a 12v source the car cranks right up. Could it be the ews module overall ? I don’t think it would make sense trying the fuse trick for starter because the starter isn’t the problem

I have this same problem in my car, with the fuse the car starts but does not start, what is the reason for this? With this it is clear to me that the ignition is fine, will I have to program a new key for my car? Or will I have to change the ews?

Hola amigo, como lograste prenderlo? Solo cambiaste la ews? Yo chequé mis relays y están bien, hice lo mismo que tú con los cables y me pasó lo mismo, pero al conectar un cable uniendo los cables negro y negro/azul da arranqué, pero no logra encender el vehículo.

I have a 2000 323i pretty sure the Ews is causing an issue with no crank/no start. I mess with the wires and then it’ll start sometimes. Will this method temporarily bypass the need of my immobilizer and get my car to start? There’s nothing wrong with my starter. It’s strictly an Ews problem and I’ve had the ring replaced.

So what do I need to send in if it is ews and do you still work on 2006 bmw e46

Hey guys, is it possible to use 2001 e46 325i computer box on e46 320i without the ews of the 325 computer box but 320 with it's ews...if it's no, what can be done for the computer box to work on 320i.?

If the EWS is good, is it safe to remove it without disconnecting the car's battery? I don't wanna remove the car's battery because I don't wanna lose some codes for the radio. Thanks.

I have the same problem, but, when i plug the fuse in, starter isnt cranking? Is that a bad starter or just there is an relay or fuse i could check?

Did u Fix that ?!? Did you know what was the issue?!?

With INPA you may re-sync the EWS with the ECU to make sure it hasn't lost it's pairing

Good idea, but it’s 10 times quicker to jump tue starter from the engine bay
