It is possible but not likely that you could have traveled a lot of miles in those two weeks. The mileage and condition of your engine plays a factor, in combination with your driving habits along with any modifications. Depending on your mechanic where you got the oil change, maybe they can check it since they recently did it. Also good too have a quart of the proper oil for your engine, maybe you can ask the person doing the oil change to sell you a quart to have on hand and explain how to handle the oil. Lots of factors in the question, I could go on but it’s hard to give a definite answer but, usually a lot easier to solve. Please share an update, hope this helps.

I have seen the sensor not perform the best when checking oil. The dipstick is best, keep your car level and cold engine when checking oil. Please share an update, thanks.

No probs. Yeh the triangle indicator went away. My car is 2021 I used OW-20 that’s what the sticker on the engine had. Later this month I’ll schedule an oil change. Thanks for the help

Thanks a bunch for the update, great call on the oil weight. On my 2021 VW Jetta the oil service interval is 10,000. It’s good to check the oil level every 3,000 miles especially if you drive more aggressively. Thanks again for the update.

Depending on someones driving style and that we have turbo engines, it is possible to have the car consume decent amount of oil, especially during the break in period, under 10,000 miles. Please share an update if you find anymore pertinent information, thanks.

As for me I like to follow the recommended service interval of 10,000 miles per oil change, checking oil levels every 2,500 miles. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the car!

@@WheelsTips Oh yes that’s what I mean’t indicator! For some reason even with enough oil it still is not going away, could this be some oil sensor issue?

That would be interesting, given the car is a 2021. Are you out of warranty range? Have you done a full system scan to see if you have fault codes? What mileage are you at, and when was the last oil change you did? Thanks for any update.

@@WheelsTips Well I’m from Canada so I’m in KM, so basically I change it every 7-8,000 km, and it just hit around that mark right now, I was planning an oil change next week anyways before the indicator showed up! I’m not sure what my warranty looks like, maybe I should call my local VW to book a service appt to figure it out?

Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to share that information. I have had GTIs and Jettas for the past 20 years and they all eat oil in my experience especially the turbo ones. I was a bit shocked in this scenario given the mileage, but going through the seasons and using sport mode with this little turbo, the oil could have reasonably gone low. VW recommends checking the oil every 2,000 miles and t is also important as I mentioned in the video to use the correct weight and spec this makes a big difference.
