The best sprinkler is the one that emits water that covers all area and keeps water low to the ground to prevent wind drift and evaporation. With that being said, I've always been a fan of just the old fashioned sled sprinkler with the different adjustable patterns. Oscillating sprinklers shoot water upward 15 feet and by the time it falls to the ground, you are only getting a fraction of what you actually put out. Those rotary sprinklers have uneven area coverage. And impact sprinklers have the same issue.

but if you have the timer (replaces you having to wake up to turn it on) then why would you need the attachment that controls how long you run it for?

mrharleyguy2u probably rain-bird maxi or mini paw impact sprinkler with some pipe connection system or a quick-snap impact sprinkler with the pipe already built in to it. Edit, actually it's a quick-snap sprinkler. watering made easy ss11 original sprinkler station sprinkler to be exact.

Get a traveling sprinkler if you have a large, level lawn. They are not novilities, they actually work well and even turn themselves off.

I don't think its possible to over water a lawn. I'm from the UK, you should see how green everything is due to the constant rain.

What about pop-ups? If linked to a moisture detector the sprinklers will shut of by moisture and not time.

I'm all for saving money but a permanent sprinkler system can cost as little as $800 and even less if you do the work yourself.

$800 and the home owner installs the system. not everyone can/wants to dig long narrow trenches along their yard.. these items total can be had for around $200 and a 75yr old can operate

Integra DIY Actually, I had my sprinkler installed for $800. 4 zones about 12 heads. Its all about how you want to spend your money. If you would prefer to move a head every 20-30 minutes that is fine.

i found this video completely uninformative. the host needs to actually learn what he is talking about. plastic is a waste of time unless your yard is tiny, they are cheaply made junk. buy something made of metal and buy it once. i won't be watching this channel again. the host is a joke.
