Problem is you can only find out how old your mainboard is when having it installed and checking the date of the bios with CPU-Z. Computer shops sell three years old mainboards as "brand new".

1. EATX has nothing to do with gaming. Motherboards having the same generation of chipsets typically have nothing to do with gaming performance unless they has such poor VRMs that the CPU gets throttled. Peripheral connectivity options such as PCI-E lanes, PCI-E bandwidth, etc. will vary though. 2. Gaming cabinets, LOL. There is no such thing as a gaming cabinet. It is just a marketing gimmick. 3. Not all MicroATX boards have 4 DIMMs. 4. Not all ExtendedATX boards have 8 DIMMs. 5. Not all ExtendedATX boards have a high quality on-board audio solution. 6. G61 and G81? These chipsets never existed. 7. You did not even talk about VRMs which is a very important differentiating factor among motherboards.
