Wow ! Could be overwhelming to a total newbie. They definitely will need the saddle fitter. And the cost is another big expense. How long average time should a saddle last you ?

Hi! Yes it can be overwhelming but with the guidance of your trainer and a good fitter you can find the perfect saddle! A well made saddle can last for years. They are built to withstand hours of people sitting in them and big animals moving underneath them. If your regularly clean your saddle and keep it covered that helps! You do have to have adjustments made and sometimes the billet straps wear out but those are easily replaced! 💜😊🐴

OK so I do have a question😂 so I currently don’t know what horse I’m gonna be riding next because I ride lesson horses and lease horses at my barn and I don’t know if I should get a saddle to fit me which would be a 17 inch saddle or if I should get a saddle that would fit the general size of the horses that I’m riding i’ve been confused of what I should do for a little while now but if you could give me your opinion on what I should do, that would be very helpful😂🙏🏼❤️

Hi! I think you may want to consult with the manager or trainer at your lesson program. If you are riding and or leasing the same 1 or 2 horses and they are of similar size then you might want to get your own saddle. A seat size of 17” to 17.5” or 18” is an average adult seat size in an English saddle. The tree size and angle and panels are what have to be fit to the horse. One saddle can fit several different horses if they are about the same size and shape. Hope this helps!
