How To Clean a Cast Iron Surface. Table Saw, Band Saw and Other Tools.

Let's take a few minutes to clean, protect, and maintain the cast iron tables of our equipment. We'll remove the rust and grime, add a layer of rust protection, and treat the top to allow our work pieces to glide effortlessly over the surface. Your table saw, band saw and jointer will thank you.

Good tip about using a cork backed block with the scotch-brite, I never thought to do that. For a replacement, I switched to minwax paste wax. It seems to be the same as the old formula of johnson's before they made it that nasty green. Yours isn't the first video I've seen mention the crc 3-36. I need to add some of that to the arsenal.

That’s funny. I picked up Minwax paste wax earlier this week. I agree with you in that it seems very similar to the old Johnson’s. Thanks for watching!

Well I just learned that wax is not a good rust inhibitor... I don't know why but I always thought when applying wax to my cast iron tops I was protecting it... Never thought much of it. Thanks for letting me know. They have 336 at home Depot and I will pick some up! Thanks for the knowledge!!
