Always use your printer to avoid ink drying on nozzle or clogging. At least every other day. Print a very small CMYK Bar so that all ink color are used to make it always wet. Leaving your printer off for how many days can cause ink drying that leads to printer head nozzle clogging.

Just leave it on so the printer can trigger a maintenance cycle at preprogrammed intervals to keep the printer heads clean.

Never take the covers off. I fallowed a refill video that showed that method and every time I tried to print something after using that cartridge I would need to refill it before I started. It is the same as leaving the cover off a marker. If the covers come off you need to have a way to reattach them so that they remain perfectly sealed as they were before you removed them. A couple of dabs of crazy glue on the sides won't cut it. The old glue needs to be filed off bot the cover and the base, and something I have yet to discover needs to be used to reattach the cover to the base in a way that it is perfectly sealed.

BCH sells a conversion kit and they have videos here on KZfaq that show you in great detail how to use them. If you follow their directions it totally works. If you don't want to do it yourself you can send them your old cartridges and they will convert them for you. They have a video that shows you the options and how to order on their site. They may even just sell converted ones...not sure.

@@heatherpagefiberfreak4230 Just buy a primer for $3 and NEVER take off the cover. If you don't manage to get a perfect seal when you put the cover back on, the ink will drip onto the inside of your printer and you will find the cartridge needing to be refilled every time you go to use the printer. Also, I'm not sure why you would ever run water over your sponge. That's another example of what not to do.

nah just buy some T-1000 glue that is usually use for smartphone. those glue when it cured becomes rubber. that rubber become the sealer.

While you are correct a couple of dabs of crazy glue won't seal it, you need to apply a bead around the entire perimeter of the top of the cartridge before re-attaching the lid. Doing anything less will, of course, leave air gaps and not seal it.

@@ColHogan-zg2pc - So why bother taking the chance. Why not just drill the hole and plug it like every other how-to video explains. I've been doing it that way now for years and never had a problem.

Interesting, that is a deep clean. I usually take the print head off and soake the tip of the print head in warm to hot water for 2-3 minutes to break down any dried ink in the port jets. This works for me, but this is an alternative.

Thank you for this tutorial which made me understand a lot of things. I had refilled an empty print head (HP 62XL) with ink from a new cartridge that did not work. Unfortunately, it didn't print anything at all. I tried many methods, cleaning the heads by the printer, soaking in hot water, in alcohol, nothing worked. Out of curiosity I put my mouth on the print head and sucked gently. At first, nothing came. Then something came out and I rinsed my lips and put my cartridge back in the printer and started printing right away: it was perfect.

No, not really. In fact, what warned me that the ink was coming was that I smelled it, very characteristic. Then I rinsed my lip, rather by conscience, because I did not see any black trace.

I have tried what you have tried too but no help . But sadly "sucking" method also doesn't work in my case . Again and again I tried but only black teeth and tongue happened.

I tried all other methods like steaming and soaking in hotwater, cleaning with earbuds, tissues, Alcohol based cleaner etc.. nothing worked for me.. finally I tried this as a last resort before almost decided to buy new cartridge.. surprisingly this thing actually worked and I used shoefixer to glue it back in place

Merci pour ce tuto qui m'a fait comprendre plein de choses. J'avais rechargé une tête d'impression vide (HP 62XL) avec l'encre d'une cartouche neuve qui ne fonctionnait pas. Hélas cela n'imprimait rien du tout. J'ai essayé plein de méthodes, nettoyage des têtes par l'imprimante, trempage dans l'eau chaude, dans l'alcool à 90, rien n'a fonctionné. Par curiosité j'ai mis ma bouche sur la tête d'impression et j'ai aspiré doucement. Au début, rien n'est venu. Puis quelque chose s'est débloqué et je me suis rincé les lèvres et j'ai remis ma cartouche dans l'imprimante et lancé tout de suite une impression : c'était parfait.

Bonjour. S'il vous plaît sur ma page test un seule bande de Magenta apparaît et une seule bande de Yellow; ce qui fait que quand j'imprime ce n'est que le bleu et le noir qui sortent pourtant quand je nettoie la tête d'impression je vois bien toutes les couleurs qui sortent que faire s'il vous plaît ?

This probably took less than 30 minutes in total, and instead of needing to buy a cartridge that is no longer manufactured, they can refill this and save 20$ every 300 pages or so (instead of buying and wasting a new cartridge).

How to clean the nozzles of a dry printer cartridge in a 3 seconds. You need to immerse the printer cartridge halfway, nozzles down, for 2 - 3 seconds in boiling water, pull it out and wipe it. Let me explain: boiling water will slightly soak the dried paint and the internal pressure will “break through” and wash the nozzles with ink that is inside. True, the cartridge will “lose” some ink. If it still won't print, it means there is no ink in it.

De todas formas no se corrigió el problema. El problema estaba en las boquillas, no había la necesidad de abrir y lavar el cartucho, además el thiner puede dañar el cartucho o sus componentes. Si se hubiese corregido el problema el cartucho hubiera pintado una raya más larga y sólida en el papel desechable al final del vídeo, pero en su lugar pinto una línea discontinua, señal de que la falla persiste.

El problema de los cartuchos es que tienes que asegurar que no les entre aire por arriba, así he podido pasar imprimir por más de 4 meses de la 664

@@adolfocabello917 Remoja el cartucho, solamente las boquillas en un recipiente con agua caliente y revisa con el palel de baño si se corrigió, tiene que pintar una raya continúa y solida.

Dint do this i repeat dint do this if you want just leave the print head in warm water overnight but dont let water inside the cartridge cause it causes vapour bubbles which is worse then dried ink in the cartridge

Nah never do that once you remove the cover the airtight of the cartridge is broken and no mater what you do the ink will automatically drips into its nozzle messing up the printer inside

Anybody Don't do this process, i lost my working cartridge by this process. Use hot soldering iron. Cut upper cover. Pull sponge clean and refill. It will work. But don't vibrate them. It,s printed bus bar is very thin. It will dammage when u try with knife and hammer.

What? LOL! You can put electronics in water for cleaning. Just make sure it is dried fully before applying power. I clean industrial PCBs with soap and water then dry in the sun for 1 day and it works fine.
