If you're having rough idle or some stalling issues, a dirty or faulty IAC valve is one possible cause for this problem.

Thanks for the video. Just did this to my 2000 Wrangler. I had a stumbling idle that would eventually stall. Fixed that.

Hey @cherokeeronnie I was wondering what symptoms might a dirty IAC OR TPS/throttle body might make on a 5 speed cherokee? I replaced all my mounts and noticed that when in lower gears I release the throttle there is a bucking like feeling on the Jeep sort of a rough downshift? Wondering if it can be a symptom of dirty That? Either I probably should inspect it. Thanks

MAP sensor. Careful taking it off, it has an elbow boot hose that goes from the map sensor to the throttle body that gets hard and brittle and hard to find at the store, also check that elbow first cause sometimes it’s just that little rubber boot that’s dry rotted

My aging TJ is suffering the, "No Bus," error with no start. However, I have found a lot of bad wiring on a bundle of wire that passes over the back of the valve cover. I removed the entire wiring harness that connects the ECM, Crank shaft position sensor, starter, alternator, timing plug, map sensor, idle air controller, oxygen plugs and the such. I removed the wire cover and have been replacing each burt wire in the bundle. I hope this is the source of the, "No Bus," error and no start. It definitly is part of it. But did the computer get destroyed because of the various crossed circuits, short circuits and open circuits.

I have built up a formidable set of tools over the years by not paying other people to work on my car and investing in tools and knowledge instead. Some of the stuff people take their cars to shops for is shocking.

Did your screws really come off that easy? I had to cut the head off and use a vice grip and vice to keep it in place to remove it. theyGLUE the screws in! well, mine anyway. It was a pain in the asssss! to take off.

Probably an hour's labour, whatever their hourly labour charge is. You might be lucky and find one who'd do it in under 30 minutes and would only charge you half rate.

Many Mechanics do not clean the parts, they just replace them and charge you a premium price for the part.

I can’t get my throttle body out for the life of me. I removed the 3 large screws but it just doesn’t seem to want to budge.

Those are like 15 bucks online, if your jeep is like 20 years old then you might wanna just replace it cause every sensor goes bad over time...I cleaned mine and it didn't do shit but bought a new one and it worked

Been having my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee for almost 9 years, never change or clean the Idles air control valve. I been noticing that my RPM is really high. Does the Idles have anything to do with it?

That can be the issue with IAC . Could also be throttle position sensor as well . I’ve had both go out in different Jeep never threw a check engine light either . Most of time with IAC failure I noticed RPMS are higher at start up or sometimes I noticed RPMS drop lower than normal when sitting at light Jeep trying to stall out … TPS (throttle position sensor) I had one go bad on me at every light the Jeep’s RPMS were screaming but when I stopped it would shut off right away I had start Jeep up again and drive to next light screaming until I stopped it would shut off again … I replaced IAC same problem persisted then I swapped out a TPS problem was cleared up …. Another issue on throttle is look at MAP sensor there’s a small rubber boot on MAP sensor that attaches to throttle they dry rot after awhile the boots are very hard to find most auto stores don’t have them , just go to hardware store get some tubing or something to replace it if that problem for temporary fix until you can order another correct small boot online

@@Jabshier1980ty for the info 👍🏽 just got p0507 today for my 07 jgc laredo and I’m gonna start w cleaning my iac w brake cleaner then if that don’t work it’ll be a new one from Amazon hope it fixes it, the only thing I notice different is when I start sometimes there’s a slight hesitation but very minor but the code I got today will get me on my but to clean that iac

It did for me. I rev to 2,000 RPM then back down, etc.

Conner Highwood mine loves to rev up to like 1300 or 1500 then sit at 1k for a bit but only when i turn on my AC really like if its on low or off itll idle at 700

my 96 Cherokee runs at idle barley , have to feather gas to get it to Rev up have fuel changed map throttle ,and air flow censers , any ideas ?

Martie Large Get a Snap-on scanner to test codes. Get the cartridges and adapter and 120 volt battery cable and emission cartridge. Also get the manuals. E-Bay has them. Do ALL the tests!
