How do you clean a vacuum cleaner so that it works efficiently and for a longer time? Dirty filters not only stop the vacuum from sucking in properly but can also cause motor problems which result in a costly appliance replacement. Maintenance is important and it varies depending on what model you own. Bagless hoovers need their filters cleaning more often as vacuum bags often come with built in filters. It’s also worth consulting the appliance manual to see what the manufacturer recommends as not all filters are washable.
The filter must be cleaned regularly as it gathers the dirt and can become blocked fairly quickly. If the filter hasn’t been cleaned for some time working outside is a better idea - your home will remain bright a shiny.

The vacuum cleaner I have is Goblin Essentials ECV002B-17 but filters must be cleaned regurarly and frequently in all bagless vacuum cleaners.
Here are some useful tips:
• Tap the filter gently against the side of the bin first.
• Use a small brush to get rid of the clogged dirt.
• Rinse thoroughly but carefully in warm running water to remove remaining dust. Don’t use any detergents.
• Leave the filter to air dry for 24 hours. Make sure it’s not wet before you put it back into the vacuum cleaner.
