This is by far the best video I have seen on basic cleaning of the Central Boiler Classic Edge. You are very thorough. Good job. Thanks. I hope you do the complete annual maintenance video. It would be very helpful.

I always thought that big scraper tool was awkward and hard to use. I bought an ice chopper has a 4” wide flat blade on a shovel Handel and its my favorite tool for cleaning my boiler.

Great video. Very helpful for me as a new CB owner. I have a new 760 that’s two weeks old and It’s smoking like crazy and reaction chamber temps are only getting up to 500. I’m happy to know it’s probably just time for a good clean-out and nothing else is wrong. Thanks!

Maintain a good coal bed. If it’s less seasoned wood, have a bigger coal bed. If it’s really seasoned dry wood, you don’t need to maintain such a big coal bed

Seems it may be best to clean every weekend and if weather so bad you can’t it’s still ok to skip it

The harder the furnace runs and the drier the wood, the less likely you’ll have to clean the furnace. If you’re not burning seasoned wood and the weather is warm, you should clean more often. I would suggest you look at the air channels, etc before cleaning. Weekly is way too much in my opinion.

I wish they added a button that'll turn off the beeping sound and say "cleaning" and auto turn on once the doors are closed, meaning the next time you open it, it'll beep, and out you physically turn it on by pushing it again

I might have missed it in the video, but how often do you clean the combustion chamber and heat exchangers?

This year, I only did one shut down cleaning and my end of the year cleaning. Combustion chamber is cleaned every three weeks to remove ashes but a lot of that depends on time of year and amount of wood burned.

I clean out my firebox first and save the hot coals. Then clean out the reaction chamber.

If you really want to get the fire rolling again throw a shovel full of hot coals in the reaction chamber when you’re done and then throw the remaining Kohl’s in the firebox and load the furnace it will take off like crazy!

I have purchased 560 last week and no matter how often I scrape the bottom to allow air flow, my fire keeps going out randomly. Good dry wood still sitting there while it can't ignite fire after reaching bottom 165F. Have you had this problem as well?

If you put in a ton of wood is a lot of that heat wasted or does the fan moderate the burn so all the energy is used? Seems like if you’re shooting for 180 degree water it would be harder to throttle a huge fire instead of a small one. I’d like to get one of these and am just trying to figure it out.

The fire burns downward, a full firebox only increases creosote. Fan only runs when in an active burn cycle.
