Every tune I watch I learn something. Bag for all those "Bungs", seems simple but I've always thrown 'em away. Thanks again

I use Citric Acid. As you say, there are many roads to the same destination. Great video Dale. Best wishes, Dean.

Yes, many roads, one of the things I like about this product is it has a component in it that prevents flash rust when you remove it.

Hey Dale, I got my Xl125 bored to 61mm and honed it with a cheapo drill attachment, not ideal but I think it will work. I cleaned up the wiring on the bike with a cheap bullet connector kit and crimpers, assembled it all back together and it fired right up.

That is awesome, glad you got it going. Its a good feeling when you do it yourself and it works out. Great!

Hey Dale. Great video! Quick question, when I have cleaned out tanks with acid and/or rust remover and then rinse them out they can flash rust due to the etched surface. Any pointers on how to seal them once clean? Thanks.

Hey Chris, here were I live, if using metal rescue I never have flash rust. With all the others I have used, I will get some. Metal rescue is not an acid I think that is why. But we are high desert here with almost no humidity. I understand there are some chemical you can put in while still wet. That's OK unless you are putting in a liner, then you pour in a half gallon of acetone and some sheet rock screws and shake. It will remove the flash rust and prep for the liner.

Where did you get the bucket off metal rescue. I haven’t seen that. I get the gallon and the paste.

I get it from Zoro.com, its really gone up. Last one I got was 110.00 about 2 years ago. Now 149.00 but it is free shipping. Just a sign of the times I guess.

I wonder if metal rescue is citric acid? Great film.
@montana2strokeracer Жыл бұрын
Hey Carl, it doesn't say that on the container. Matter of fact it says contains no acids. Not sure what does the work, says it is safe for everything, I know it doesn't hurt paint or anything else that I have noticed. Just rust. What is great is your parts don't flash rust when you remove it. It must be a secret formula.
@carlwilson1772 Жыл бұрын
@@montana2strokeracer Sounds good. I've heard tell of substances to de rust that use some sort of enzyme. Maybe that's it. The lack of flash rusting is really good.

We need a second vid, what to do when the rust remover is removed or how to remove, what about flash rust?
@montana2strokeracer Жыл бұрын
Hey Robert, I have another one to do soon. It's pretty simple though, you just pour it back in the bucket. If using Metal Rescue which is not an acid, you do not have flash rust, that's why I have settled on that product. It cost more but it's worth it not to have the flash rust. Granted I am in a high desert area here and our humidity is generally pretty low. They also have a product called Dry Coat that is a rust preventive, I have not used it at this time, but that may be a solution for flash rusting.
