In this video I will show you a cheap, efficient and simple method to clean silver contacts from the copper base. I will use household chemicals available in every grocery shop and pharmacy.

Wow, you can really see how much copper is missing after the reaction. Looks like it took care of the thin sheets surrounding the contacts. I'll use this method to get rid of the copper before further purification. Thank you!

Did you have silver chloride in your solution? I ended up with a good amount of it on the bottom of my beaker.

Thanks for the video, does palladium dissolve in this mixture, I have palladium contacts on thin copper.

Hi, to be honest I never tried, but palladium is possible to be attacked in a solution of strong oxidiser like hydrogen peroxide in presence of chloride and acid. You gave me idea to test this. Thanks!

if is cooper and silver contact from that type of relay why are them magnetic? did you try to cros with magnet abowe them

Hi, contacts are not magnetic. It was east Germany or USSR relays, I can’t remember exactly.

Citric acid + peroxide is good, molten ammonium nitrate is better, faster and cheaper, just di it outside and use glasses and gloves

Hi, you used citric acid, table salt and hydrogen peroxide? Sometimes peroxide is old and not catalysing the reaction well. What was the % of the peroxide?

@@yousafali1118 When you mix the peroxide with citric acid and salt reaction immediately starts with copper. Is color changing or bubbling starting, please?
