Dust remover is a highly corrosive compound so, don’t forget to use hand gloves during the process.

@@user-gs6ib8ec3i l did understand you but you are mistaken. If you dry it very well there won’t be any problem at all. You can watch the full version of the video on my channel. Also please look at my last video you will see that l used the soldering iron effectively. Thanks for your comment.

You don't have to use abrasive things because the tip is coated with a protective layer for increasing the endurance of the tip

Bro that steel pad is going to ruin your tips... Get a brass one, don't even need anything else just fill something with a bunch of it and jam the iron in there while it's hot, Comes out brand new every time and it doesn't scratch the tips

Thanks for your advice my fella. Of course it’s a way. But l am pretty sure that there are many people have a steel one, so l wanted to show them a way of cleaning👍

@@joyofelectronics9782 Yep, Just saying with some brass pads instead of steel, you can keep your tips for a life time, I find they're easier to clean if you put some fresh solder on it before you jam it in the brass as well, Comes out looking brand new, And after the pads get full of solder you can just take them out and shake the solder loose with your hands and just keep reusing it :)

Yea... never do this, especially not the steel sponge. Just use the brass sponge and tip tinner/cleaner regularly to always keep it in great shape. If it's gotten as bad this one, either use the same method i mentioned but work it a minute or two till it gets better, or use a sal ammoniac block, which will work even if it's worse than the one in the video. But never use anything that might scratch your tip, it might seem fine, while it's actually slowly eating away the inside of your tip and eventually can't get enough heat to the tip.

You're using an abrasive steel pad, how is that any different. Just heat it up, hit it in some sandpaper and re-tin. This is just a waste of time. My method takes about two minutes and most of that is waiting for the iron to heat up. LMFAO.

@@shelbyseelbach9568you're a moron. Tips are made out of copper because of its high heat conductivity, but flux is corrosive and will eat away the copper pretty quickly, which is why soldering tips are never just copper, they have several layers of plating to protect it from the corroding. Iron, nickel, chrome. Copper also oxidizes ALOT faster, which makes it harder to work with. If you damage the tip plating you'll often get the copper core slowly corroding away on the inside while the tip looks the same but just won't get enough heat to melt the solder, because the tip is literally hollow
