In this video I show how to clean your dirty clogged Wahl clippers. This helps with taking it apart and putting it back together in case it is broken or is overheating.

I took it apart to clean it and was worried upon reassembly that the blades didnt line up evenly. Now I realize you have to put a little skill into lining them up and tightening it down. Wahl is amazing, buy one and you have it for life unless its dropped or stolen. Thanks for the tutorial, it was very helpful.

When putting the cutter blades back together, line the cutter blade up with the beginning of the round shoulder of the comb blade with the first cutting tooth the the right of the first comb tooth on the right. Tighten the screws one quarter turn at a time each until they are both tight, then snug them up. If they are not parallel, loosen and re-set until you get it correct. These blades can be re-sharpened many times. Use machine oil to oil them in use. WD 40 can be used to wash the blades out and you can use a wire brush to clean between the teeth.

@@neutralpeace647 @3:43 you can get a good view of the blades. The tip of the right tooth of the cutter blade should be in line with the beginning of the curve on the outside edge of the comb blade.

@@neutralpeace647 I'm taking it that you are talking about the screw on the side of the clipper. These clippers work by magnetism and sometimes need to be 'tuned'. Take screwdriver and turn the screw, the clipper might make a really loud noise, turn the screw back and forward until it doesn't make a sound and you observer the blades passing each other. Your blades might be stuck together, make sure they can move.

Excellent tutorial. The clipper you presented is the exact one my dad used for many-many years. After I inherited it, it jammed up with a surfeit of nastiness in every nook & cranny. The clean up and reassembly was not just gratifying; it also obviated the need to buy a new one. Thnx!

It should be noted that hair actually gets inside of the case. The body also needs to be disassembled, so that you can clean out the internals. Hair inside of the clippers can cause more damage than hair on the blades.

Did this but actually the issue was lubrication on the blade. I couldn't just loosen the screws as they are very short and just vibrated loose. I just took the 2 blades out, put some oil on them and put them back together with the screws fully tightened and it was fixed.

I have a Remington Rotary 200s shaver and I used the pop up trimmer today for the first time. I trimmed and lined my sideburns but I was only able to do it for one side. The blade teeth won't move anymore and the motor sounds like its struggling. I brushed away all the visible hair from the blades and added a few drops of oil but it still won't move when I turn on the shaver, even though the motor is working. What should I do?
