HOW TO CLEAN YOUR ENGINE BAY

Very easy guys! Just please dry EVERYTHING and protect EVERYTHING that should be covered.
Items used:
Degreaser: amzn.to/2N4DtA8
Eco Wash: amzn.to/2TPMzDA
Power Washer: amzn.to/2InXgMa
Foam Cannon: amzn.to/2I9mqOC
Soap: amzn.to/2E8RvxN
Steps:
1. Spray degreaser on dirty engine bay. Don't let it dry.
2. Spray off degreaser.
3. Foam cannon a decent amount of soap.
4. Scrub all areas with towel or brush.
5. Spray off all soap.
6. DRY DRY DRY with either blower or towel. Make sure all connections are dry.
7. (Optional) Use waterless cleaner to touch up any other areas.

It’s actually a Rigid shop Vac from Home Depot and the top comes off to make itself a blower. Lemme see if I can find it on Amazon

Hey Jon, do you have any issues with white residue? I want to avoid mistake of the past with degreaser products that end up hazing everything. Was thinking something with close to neutral pH, and cold engine. Please let me know if you have had any issue with that or would change anything in your process. Cheers

Very informative. I usually do under my hood same time as i shine my interior. Once every 2 months or so. Easier for me as it keeps decently clean and very easy to keep it maintained.

I’ve seen videos of people damn near driving these trucks underwater while running trails. I don’t think a light water spray will hurt anything.

Ive had 9 cars and never had an issue washing under the hood. I usually spray it down with a tire dressing foam let it soak like you did with the degreaser then rise off. Boom looks clean and new.

Blue TRD Jon Yupp! I use the armor all tire foam. It’s cheap and does the job. 20 years of using it and never a problem.

Just a good rule of thumb to not spray electrical areas directly. Moisture has a funny way of creeping into areas it doesn't belong. Once again, informative and well done.

Yes correct. Another reason why I really suggest the power washer to disperse the water more, rather then a hose.

why does it matter if the wires and battery get wet? What's the difference between washing your engine or driving in head rain or a large puddle cause that gets the entire engine area wet anyways?

It's more of the direct contact. When its raining your hood isn't open. Yes some water does come in from the undercarriage though.

Probably more risk washing it than not just due to tiny corrosion from water in tiny nooks and crannies in electrical stuff. We never wash the tractors and they are dusty dirty all the time
