You can also use scissors to cut up the clumps. It helps a lot. Remove what you can then put your brush in hot water. It really helps getting the oils off the bristles 😊

I’m about to blow your mind. You don’t need any tools. 1. Take out the excess hair by hand. Just what you can grab. 2. A bowl of hot water (I use hot sink water and pour a BIT of boiling water from the kettle) and blue dawn 3. Let the brushes soak until cool enough to handle by hand. 4. scrub the two brushes together vigorously. Each brush cleans the other better than any tool I’ve ever used. No more lint bunnies.

I also use a wide tooth plastic comb and not a brush. I have pin straight hair and let me tell you its so much healthier and better for any and all hair types to not use a brush. Its just too easy to use too much force and rip your hair by accident when using a brush. Its also easier to clean and quicker. My hair has grown so much since ive stopped using a brush four years ago. My hair is hip length now. I have a toothbrush I keep specifically for cleaning my hair brushes. I remove the hair with a rat tail comb, squeeze a little shampoo onto the toothbrush, run my tap on the hottest it will go and give it a scrub and rinse. I set them to dry on a microfibre cloth. I also scrub my rat tail comb and wide tooth comb. I do this roughly every 4 days because that's how often I wash my hair and I don't want to use dirty tools on clean hair, but in between whenever I use my brush I quickly and roughly remove trapped hair. Maybe that would be overkill for you or maybe that will work well for you as it does for me. But yeah that's how I do it.

Shampoo it thoroughly and tap it against the side of the wash basin (bristle side hitting the basin). Do it repeatedly, and all these suckers should pop right off. Plus, it helps to squeeze the water out of the cushion, which is important as the inside can get mouldy if not dried properly. Lint feom your terry cloth towels. It is reduced if you use other things to dry your hair that don't shed lint so much. Also, of you remove the hair after ever brush by sliding your finger up the back of the brush from handle to tip, then grabbing the hair in one handful and pulling it off, you pull off most of the build up just by removing it every time.

remove hair with whatever tool works for you, I use a rattail comb. Then I use a nailbrush to dry brush it to get rid of anything that the first treatment didn't. You can also use a papertowel and rubb that against your brush to removed the bunnies. It's usefull inbetween cleanings. Then soak in shampoo + warm water, brush with nailbrush to get it really clean. Rinse and let dry. Like brand new.

I had the same problem with my other brushes such as the wet brush but the tangle teezer brush I have had for almost a year and I have never had problems with it collecting dust like the wet brush did.
