Hi, It's my first time to have a non stick pan and I don’t know how to take care of it. From the beginning, it was difficult for me to immediately remove the sticker from the pan itself, it was too sticky and it was difficult to remove. I'm afraid to rub it because it might ruin its non -stick status. So I tried searching KZfaq for videos on how to remove the sticker and its sticky gum from the pan. While I was looking, I saw your video about the proper care of a non stick pan. Your video was a great help and I learned a lot. And because of that, I am one of the new subscribers of your KZfaq channel now. By the way, I am Charles, from the Philippines (a novice in the field of food cooking). More power to you guys, and to your KZfaq channel. ❤️ Sending my love all the way from the Philippines. 🇵🇭😘

After removing the sticker you can remove the glue from the sticker with sanitary alcohol on a cotton cloth or cotton ball

How do I clean the "burnt-on" or "cooked-on" grease(the brown-black sticky grime layer that won't budge) on the inside(cooking side) and the outside(the one facing the stove) of the non-stick pan? I've tried certain methods(from the internet) but they ended up ruining the pan. I've spent a lot of money just for non-stick pans.

Never ever ever let the food dry on the pan, its so easy to just immediately rinse the food off the pan after using it, no piles of washing and I do this before I eat the meal i just cooked as it only takes a few minutes.

Can we use a plastic scrubber or the scraper on the back? Its basically a flat piece of plastic on the back of my scrubber. It just makes it easier to clean sometimes.

Should I dry it with towels after washing? Or can I just leave it to air dry?
@moon__punk
@moon__punk 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure about the US, but here (Europe) it's against food safety to dry anything with towels in a professional kitchen. Towels are full of germs/bacteria. Even if you change them at least once a day, this is still not a safe practice
@SuccessforLifester
@SuccessforLifester 3 жыл бұрын
@@moon__punk Ok.. Due to laziness I don't dry my pans with towels too. Back in the old days, my mum maintained two towels, one for wiping table and the other for wiping wAter off cleaned plates. Every week she would boil them with dish soap. Then she maintained another pot for boiling and washing face towels.. My brother laughed at her meticulousness.. now I think my mum was really ahead of times in terms of hygiene
@moon__punk

@@SuccessforLifester @Sean Hey, yes, my mom also does exactly that since I can remember and I'd never have the courage to tell her to stop. But I guess this rule doesn't apply to moms. They have their own superpowers against germs and stuff. It's just public cafes and ordinary people who shouldn't use towells :)

No offense intended but I came to this video because the title offered to teach me HOW TO CLEAN my pan. The only part of the video that touched on actually cleaning it was to use a brush to remove the old food, put a few drops of soap in a wet pan and then scrub it with a soft cleaning pad. Is that it? I heard about what NOT to use but that has little to do with actually cleaning the pan. Help us out so we don't feel cheated with the false advertisement in the video title.

I think the reason is nonstick cookware is always easy to clean by hand. If not, the cookware probably has already been damaged and need a replacement.

What a horrible view point to hold. All types of pans have very different purposes, in terms of high-end cooking. There is a whole load of food you would only cook in a non-stick pan, and another whole load of food you'd only cook in cast iron pans, and so on.

You can use less oil in cooking when using nonstick cookware. For this reason, spending 30 dollars every two or three years is not a problem all.
