Thanks for your video. I just bought the same exact popcorn machine on Offer Up from a guy who hadn’t cleaned it out before selling it to me. He says it works great still, but yuck. I’ve spent an hour trying to clean it. Wished I had watched this first! Buying the Kettle Cleaner from amazon now.

If you can remove the kettle, why would you pour water into it and then heat it? You just remove it and then clean away from electricity.

I have a machine used at concession stand everyweek. I need this better method because our current methods take a crazy long and tedious time. We desperately need better tools and methods for cleaning the kettle evry week. We just use paper towels, canned air, and a lot of scrubbing only a few areas that can actually be reached. Not very effective. Can anyone tell me where to get the solution to mix with water? Other suggestions, please, thanks!

Don't bother. Get you some food safe non rinse cleaner(same used for cleaning beer and other fermenting supplies).

It's a kettle cleaner that most if not all movie theaters use to clean the machine it helps remove any gunk.

It's basically a type of detergent for metal but make sure you dont get it on skin. It irritates it badly.

This video is BS!! I looked up the material safety data sheet. Kettle Cleaner contains Sodium chloride (Salt), Sodium carbonate (baking soda), Sodium metasilicate (found in almost all dish soaps) and Ethylene oxide-Nonylphenol polymer (lead). Just pour some vinegar and water into the kettle and turn the machine on for like 10 minutes or until the kettle is clean. Also, these things are a bitch to keep clean. I ended up tearing mine all the way apart. It's amazing how sticky and nasty that thing is even though it was always wiped down.

No. Use food safe cleaner only. Easy Clean is the best and cheapest. It's what we(brewers) to clean things. It's food safe and no rinse...meaning you don't have to rinse the stuff off if you don't want. Just let it dry. I'd recommend rinsing though just to get whatever out of the kettle or off the metal.
