what a nonsense to take the whole gun apart, because al parts wil wear out that way. Just put some thinner into the pot, shake well, empty it, repeat that a few times, then unscrew the air cap until it almost drops off, then ad some more thinner and hit the trigger and the air wil blow the thinner right back into the gun and pot, and empty it. Repeat that a few times, and at last screw the aircap back on, and blow the whole gun trough with some more thinner and your done.

Nah, you only want to grease the back part of the needle. This part wont contact the paint.

most important thing is actually to wear gloves that will not tear so easily when using Laquer Thinner or other cancer-causing thinners. I got hand dermatitis while doing the same mistake. These chemicals can burn you for good. Be careful mate.

Couldn't help but notice, you smeared Vaseline on your needle.

Fabulous video, guys, and chrystal clear! I'm just about to start out with My First Spray Gun (spraying guitars here in Holland), and my first activity has been following this vid and dismantling and remantling the gun before it even smells lacquer. I'm so glad it was so easy to follow! Thanks heaps!

You need chemical resistant gloves the thinners just destroying your skin and opening the risk of cancer up ten fold,

Great tutorial guys, I am going to try paining myself and the cleanup process had me worried that I wouldn't get it right. This really explained to me what I need to do.
