I try not close cards and take the creditscore hits. If I dont need it anymore or just dont want to carry it or use it, I'll add it to my cardpulse account which runs a buck against each card to keep them active. If it has an annual fee I'll downgrade it then add it. l dont know how you keep up with handling 30 cards thats alot of metal energy, regardless great content and topics!

I don't care about consequences of closing a credit card. I am 73 and have 9 credit cards, so I already closed a few because of too many fees and high interest Besides, I don't care how much I owe, I could die any time. I haven't wasted my time hee on Earth worrying about anything because it doesn't matter. Nothing matters; it all comes tumbling down and into dust anyway.

I've finally come to the point where I am willing to admit I have a credit card problem. Y'all, I cannot stop maxing them out. I get the balance down one way or another, then I get it right back up. I'm _tired_ of the cycle. I'm taking out my THIRD debt consolidation loan in ten years. I'm either going to keep repeating it, or I'm going to get out of this insanity and try something different. So that's it. I'm ripping the band aid off. I'm closing the accounts, and I'll be making extra payments on the loan. It'll hurt for a little bit, but I plan to pay off this loan at the same time as my car. And when that happens, my wife and I will be living very comfortably. To the point that whatever renovations she wants to do to our house could be saved up for in the matter of a season. But it's just gonna have to suck for a little bit.

DO CLOSE A CARD IF... a annuel fee a no balance open you no longer need that specific card any more if its a young age card DO NOT CLOSE A CARD IF... you owe a balance its the very first card you ever got/ oldest has a high limit has the most ontime payments on record

My cellphone account is my oldest account (20years) . I can just close any card that I want with annual fees.

What if I got approved for a credit card from my bank but I changed my mind and want to close it before they even ship me the card can I cancel it without being that effected in my credit score . I am just getting cold feet and don’t want it anymore lol I regret it so much

if you close a credit card account, it's a negative not a positive because it messes with your average age. That's what I've been told.
