Agree, it changed my mind about the mess that CMake is for people who only have the offical doc and tutorials which are at 2.8 level and suck.

As I was going through curl library i came through cmakelist where its extension .3 changes to .pdf and .html. Your videos helped me to learn cmake better.

Best CMake tutorial on the internet. I wish you can make more videos. You teach very well. Although you go fast in an impressive manner, you may want to slow down a bit for others. I do have a question, In the sum function you explained, how do you know that the "3" and "5" are being passed to "a" and "b" respectively? Why not "out" and "a" respectively for example?

Cmake really is a horrible language, however people are using it and forcefully torture anyone who has to learned it. Cmake is really hurt my brain. It is so stupid!

At @12:50 I would change line 9 to increment(${value}) Just makes it easier to read rather than de-referencing inside the string on line 5.

Sure, but the example he was setting up was how to return values from a function. So, after explaining how double dereferencing works, he goes on to show how to return a value from the function using PARENT_SCOPE. You can't do that if you call the function with the dereferenced value as the argument (unless you want to separately provide the name of the variable to set, as he showed with the sum() example).
