Hi Dean great video very informative but I have bimmer code using the obdlink cx dongle but it's saying can't code my footwell module even though everything works with no faults apart from my map reading lights turn on then turn off a few seconds later and don't turn back on till you restart the car my car is a 2010 bmw x1

dr dean, i know u dont know me from Adam. but i just bought my very first BMW e46 330i m sport touring 9individual i think) mate because of you and your amazing videos. helping me make my mind up they are easier than i first thought, now i always loved BMW and wanted the m3 version. when it first came out wow. even now beautiful but i cant afford it ATM, so i got the closet as possible. i wish to start my own channel doing it up myself and other cars also not just BMW and general messing about with toys. dean if you havent thrown it away would it be possible to acquire the Carly think please>( i have no clue at all about coding so think this is best first to learn, and as im disabled and dont work because of disability i any help would be amazing mate,, but whatever happens you are a BMW guru bud keep it up please you help more than you know bud, all the best big boy aka Shaun

For Coding, I use the ProScan eNet OBD2 Interface Ethernet with an USB-C Adapter in Airplane Mode. For BimmerLink, I use an UniCarScan UCSI 2000 in Android, with an Extension for Extraction.

Hello Doctor Dean, i have seen these youtubers talking about coding with vehicle on, i wanted to find out if that was advised. I have a Schumaker 12v charger but not anything that would hold 14v. If not recommended to code with it on, is that charger acceptable for minor coding? Like one or two options at a time?

Hi there from Australia, new to bimmercode, and after trying to change a few service interval configurations, I seem to have a microfilter service stuck on 12/2001 and I have also added glow plug and dpe regen to the dash menu. This is a 2011 e90 2l petrol. Please help, I think the cluster module has maybe swapped something wrong??

SZL was replaced in my 2015 BMW M235xi, but the paddle shifter, horn, and steering wheel heater are not working. Is it possible to code in the SZL using expert mode in FEM? I believe the necessary adjustments are in 3140 PfLinSteeringWheel - LIN_VARIANTE_SZL. Please assist me with this. Please keep in mind that the replacement SZL is not brand new. I bought it on eBay.

greetings ~ if you know, can you answer the question for me? Bought with license Bimmercode and bimmelink and OBD. I own two N52 engines, and I changed the gaskets on the valvetronik engine. is there a way to reset the code back to factory spec? ive lost my bimmercode backups. trying to chase some fault code on bimmerlink (in error memory), but i cant tell if it is bimmercode related or if its a possible electrical issue, water intrusion from a botched carwash. is there a safe way to reset the whole car? don't feel like taking it to a dealership since im out of warranty.

I like the app alot and I used it as I can save and reupload the setting easy if I'm going to the dealer, but I ran to an issue when they said they will fix it but they never did, it was KAFAS expert mode, they had it with expert mode active in the Demo but when I purchased the full version its was not active, I contacted them and hey said they will added in the next few days, 2 month later still nothing and there is no ETA... ps. the demo mode now has no Kafas or expert mode.. love your video please keep em coming!

Of course my friend I have a lot coming especially with BimmerCode and other apps. I will find out what’s going on with the expert mode, but I think the reason they don’t allow expert coding is due to FSC codes, and it’s risky if you touch the expert mode you could end up erasing the FSC codes from your KAFAS which you don’t want.

Great video, thank you. I just received my 5.1 OBDLink2 CX and will start to customize my F30. Besides the app and the tool, what other things i need to do before i start coding. Engine off/on, telephone in airplane mode, if i am not going into expert mode any chance of bricking the car, etc ?

You can't brick anything with coding. Everything is backed up each time you are coding. Coding just is reading an XML file from the module. You just write a byte to the XML. If the coding is invalid, you will get a bunch of errors but Bimmer code can restore the default coding

Hey @BMW Doctor, since you have the Launch X431 also, After using Bimmer code i noticed my Launch X431 Elite 2 is no longer able to connect to my 2011 x5 x40d. I get DiagnoseMain ErrID: -6 and "Disaccord between the software serial No. and Smartbox serial No.", "Additional Information: Diagnostic service failure, please start it again". I can use the generic OBD2 part of the software but not the BMW specific one. Have you noticed this?

Is there a setting in Expert Mode that allows the windows to close on a short (!) press on the lock button on the key? On long press it works of course.

You dont even have to go in expert mode - it is in simple menus there.

Hi mate, great video, I'm about to dip my toes into this department, I've bought a 2018 440i f36 from japan with the 6wb digi dash. Does bimmercode have the capability to code out kmh speedometer to mph? If so would this be in expert mode within instrument cluster menu? Can't find any vids online regarding this. Also need to code in a new virgin 6wa dash to a 3 series active hybrid from japan also so being able to do this myself would be beneficial moving forward. Thanks @bmwdoctor

Don't know what I"m doing wrong, but all those options appear in Demo mode (but can't code with them) but when I paid the $50 for the full version and connected half the options (including legal disclaimer and advanced crash) are not there.

Right just to start im not technically minded just a frustrated new car owner. I purchased a new m135i f40 and was shocked to find that adaptive headlights have to be purchase via BMW APP at £150! I was wondering can this app unlock this function and others that might be hidden from factory also will my warranty be affected by basic upgrades via this tool. Again im not a technically minded individual and im not a young man so not interested in making the car do any crazy stuff. Thanks in advance ☺

Hi After Bimmercode app coeding bmw f30 i got an error message with negative 260 tkm "inspection check' with 2004 year, car is 2013/14! Before coeding all the stuff like in video it was normal with next service message at 2023 year?! How to return that back or delete error, with button cluster i reset and it comes back after few minutes.

Has anyone been able to code in a retro fitted stalk with HBA I have had one fitted to my g31 19 plate that came without HBA I have had it in for coding at main dealers who were unable to code it they say they need to contact BMW as the car did not come with it. I can't understand why if the car see's it that it says "function aquairable" via conected drive but its not shown as somthing I can aquire from conected drive?

I think that you already have it finish as a coding option in bimmercode without enter expert mode, im going to do this retrofit + add auto dip. Im hoping that bimmercode can code the auto dip

Hi mate, would simple errors like headlight errors after changing to aftermarket led, block you out of the FRM in BimmerCode and throw up a critical error message, everything works on the car BimmerCode won’t let me even open up the FRM menu ? Thanks
