The Adventure Mode of Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled now has 5 golden eggs which are deceptively hard to collect! Collecting them all unlocks a new character called King Chicken! This is how you unlock him! I'm going to show you how to collect all 5 golden eggs.
This was added in the Neon Grand Prix

So to anyone, this is the trick - you can maintain a slide after starting it while going almost straight by letting go of the directional buttons while still holding the slide button.

You dont have to do that for the first one, you can go to the other side of the dock without drifting and jump when you hit the edge of the dock.

Like you said, I was genuinely surprised at how awkward some of these are to get. It's a good way to to put an excuse to practice some of the turning tech in the adventure hub, which is pretty sweet :)

@@scottmccurdy6493 There's something nostalgic about a Crash racing game not making anything easy for you, but I get what you mean. I'm currently playing the free trial on Switch, so I'm doing as much as I can before the trial expires in 5 days. My next goals are unlocking N. Tropy and the iron checkpoint crate, so I totally understand the feeling of not wanting to do something incredibly tedious just for a racer.

Hey, they are another secret items which is "Hidden Crates" in all arena, they are hidden, you can find it for fun, and unlock a new character (Iron Checkpoint Crate)

Just a tip for that first one Do a 2 tear drift turn from the other side of the dock and you can jump into the egg You have more room to land it and it is less difficult by like 0.5% But huge props to you Teal in that approach

biggest issue with collecting some of these like the snow and temple is if you are using the drift for speed, you also have to use it for jump to get more height... Who's ingenious idea was it to put the drift and hop function on the same buttons...

thats impossible to do, unless you beat the game on Easy mode but still the game forces you to slide of you wanna win the race

There is an easier way for the 1st egg use TURN driving style, for the 2nd egg use DRIFT driving style and for the remaining 3 eggs use SPEED driving style! Do as he does in the video and you are good to go!

I think he is a reference to the Chicken Item in CTTR. It would make sense as Pasadena & Von Clutch are introduced.

Easier way to get the eggs than doing crazy drifts around corners... get a big character like tiny. He is big enough to get all of them with a simple jump

I just picked up this game again been playing this offline I just updated at my friend's house and I had no idea about these eggs I've been completed Adventure Mode like a year ago and I just dropped back into it I see these golden eggs I look it up on KZfaq and sure enough you collect them you get a character. I like these type of challenges they oughta be more similar to this because the difficulty is definitely there. I think it's another cool way of unlocking characters. Almost reminds me of the old days when you had to WORK for something in video games.

I got 3 so far and struggling to get the other 2 i really needed to look up tips of how to go about doing so and that drift tip was perfect. 'coz i was about close to saying "forget it!" and move on...I'm no pro at this game. But I've been working and grinding to get every character for the kids. edit: I've now gotten to last two on top of getting Mister buff koala..! On a roll now heh time to grind sum more.

I remember I used Dingodile to get the golden eggs in N. Sanity Beach, Glacier Park, and Citadel City, because I thought them to be possible with his tall height.

Set ur car settings to speed and u can do all of these way easier, first one u just ride straight to the edge of the bridge and jump over it, with the second one you just ride back against the wall so the egg is right in front of u and just ride up the ramp and jump, the third one you just have to generate some speed and the last two you just ride straight ahead no boost required and jump at the right time

The second egg can be got in a much easier way. I literally just got it from jumping at the top of the podium after driving up the opposite ramp.

Apparently using a tall character like Megamix and using the ramp on the dock is the best way to snag the first egg. Though, these weren’t in the original game, right? I’ve played this game on the PS1 using the PlayStation Power Glove, only 300 of them were made and CTR on the PS1 was one of the games I found that works with the power glove. Also, after playing the game once on my PS1, I went back and played it again in another language instead, decided to play it in German because I was living in Germany at the time. Still a great game as ever. Glad they remade it. 😊 Fond childhood memories that me and my sisters can still reminisce about after 20 years or so.

It's nearly impossible for anyone who's relatively new to play this game to get their car to drift in boost. You just end up crashing into walls and the Boost pop really does nothing.

For oxides area just switch to tiny and hop of the winners stands. No need for powerslideing.

Honestly that one was the easiest. I didn't even have to boost or anything, I just went up the podium, jumped as i reached the edge and got it. Idk if I was just lucky or what.

I had to look up a walkthrough on how you're supposed to get all 5 golden chicken eggs the first time I beaten the adventure mode.I was struggling the first time getting one of the golden chicken eggs.After watching a walkthrough on how you're supposed to get the golden chicken eggs,I managed to get all 5 golden chicken eggs and unlock king chicken.If you know what you're doing,It's not that hard.

No need to drift on the bridge, simply a perfect turbo before head and a perfect jump will do the trick!

I literally can't even count the amount of times I've done the one on the bridge, no matter how perfect I get the boost and jump I somehow miss it anyway, the bridge is such a small gap that I can't even do my boost without screwing it up. Is there a certain character I need to use or something?

Dovetears I used crash and just did 3 perfect turbos before entering the bridge then timing the jump as soon as you hit the snow part

Thomas Langis Yeah, it probably would. I don’t really use acceleration characters, they’re not really my driving style. But I’d also use a turn based character which would work too!

But do not under any circumstances play as King chicken on adventure mode. After I did, my adventure mode save reset itself and set itself onto medium difficulty. King chicken is still selected as the character but I clicked it and got the opening sequence again. As far as I can tell, there is no fix for it. I still have my 100% items such as the hovercraft and sapphire blue but I was so close to getting another relic paint job that it really hurt. I now have to replay it over again and it was such a pain getting certain gold relics. I wish Activision could tell me what happened here.

It's not too bad. Just power slide onto the ramp and jump off before you get too high onto the ramp. Good luck!
