Hello! Huda beauty and Natasha denona have nice color correctors but a great affordable color corrector is the elf cc corrector in the shade peach! It’s thin and really pigmented so it blends well and sits well under concealer

You can also use a green color corrector if you have very fair neutral skin with pink spots to cover.

@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023for purple, ypu want something with yellow or warm undertones. The way color correcting works, is whatever color you're trying to cover up or correct, use the opposite color shade from the color wheel. So purple and yellow are across from each other. Green is compliemntary, or across from red, on the color wheel. You wouldn't use a pure yellow because the dark circles probably aren't pure purple. But does that make sense?

Also according to the colour wheel, for purple under eyes you can use yellow because yellow cancels purple, I do this and I find it works better as I’m very pale and have a cool undertone. Have fun everyone!

This!! As a theory, the light-deep color correctors are great, but there are definitely exceptions. When in doubt, color theory!

I was glad someone said this! peaches, reds and oranges are only going to cancel out those bluer/greener tones! If your under eyes are purple you will not get the same/full effect without using a yellow color corrector! Or if you find color correcting too heavy for your under eyes try to find a concealer that is one shade lighter (if you want that bright look) and the undertone that cancels out the pigment under the eyes!

⁠@@goeticfolkloreYes according to google, pink and red are good colour correctors for brown under eyes however according to colour theory seeing as brown as a dark orange I would try blue as they’re opposites and should neutralise each other, hope this helps !

Honestly the colour hugely depends on your undertones too. I personally use a pastel yellow colour corrector because that's the only one that actually corrects my really dark circles. Best way to check what works for you is to look at the shade of your dark circles on a colour wheel and then choose a concealer opposite of that.

If you have purple dark circles, you should use yellow for your color corrector. If you have blue dark circles, you should use orange. If you have green dark circles, you should use the pink/peach. If you have gray dark circles, you should use the color of your skin but with more saturation. I swear color theory will work for every skin tone and undertone. I hope this helps 🖤

@@m.c.3640I think like bright red lipstick. My aunt was a makeup artist and that’s what I remember her saying but I’m not positive. Try looking up color correction on dark skin tutorials.

@@m.c.3640it all depends on your undertones too. If you have warm undertones like red or browns or oranges, and your under eyes look blueish black, perhaps try a red or red orange color corrector? If you have darker skin with cooler purple and blueish undertones then neutralize overly warm tones with blues/ purples or maybe play around with purple-reds under eyes. Some also say dark oranges for under eye. Key also is just a little dab under eyes rather than a whole lot so it doesn’t orange your whole cheeks but just the spots. Hope that helps.

I have light skin. The pink is still too light for my dark circles. So I use peach. But I use a small amount. My concealer and foundation covers it just fine. It actually works quite beautifully.

I use a peachy light orange one that blends out really well it's the photo chic one I got a pot of it in ipsy nearly a decade ago and it's all iv used since. When I was younger it was the only make up I wore every day. I'll never forget walking though the kitchen in my parents house in high school one day with out it and my dad freaking out asking me who gave me a black eye?! I was like Dad! No one did this is just my sleep deprived eyes with no make up!

Yes, that's because the pink has cool undertones. You needed a warm to neutralize. If you want a hint of pink, try adding a teeny bit for color 🙂

No, that’s just how they look…mine look just like that y’all hating like my face isn’t natural. We are the same shade and the same race and we get purple under eyes like that…Some people just have pigmentation under our eyes that pigmented. That’s how genetics and God made us.

The key is to color correct with a product that is the opposite of the color you are trying to hide on the color wheel. If you need to hide purple, correct with something more yellow. If its blue, then orange or peach. Pink and red, green.

While a peachy-pink might be an ok shade for some skin tones, you should definitely never go for a full-on pink like that popular pink Huda Beauty powder to color correct under your eyes or the neon pink Dior blush like some people are doing in viral shorts/TikToks. You are trying to balance out dark circles which are basically blue pigment (veins showing trough the very thin skin under the eyes), in some cases that’s a true blue, in some more of a purpleish blue. So using pink lipsticks, powders etc. to color correct under your eyes doesn’t work because these products contain too much blue pigment themselves to do any good as a color corrector, because pink=red+blue. With pink, you could correct like a grass green color, because that’s opposite in the color wheel. Nobody has grass green undereye circles though. It’s all basically just color theory. In order to color correct dark circles, an orangey red is ideal. Depending on your skin tone, you should obviously go lighter vs. darker and vary in undertones as explained, but pink is never a good choice.

Use a yellow corrector and the purple will DISAPPEAR before you even apply the concealer, my dark under eyes aren’t as purple as yours but yellow corrector work magic for me

Yess, the reason is Color Theory yellow cancels out purple which is why the purple gets neutralised from yellow. I love colour theory 😋

Add a dot and mix with your foundation or concealer! I do this with green on my cheeks and I barely have to wear any foundation. It almost instantly cools all my redness down

I have fair skin with purple-ish undereyes, if I use pink color corrector it makes me look pale an dead 😂 I just use a concealer that is slightly more yellow/orange than my skin tone, works like a charm and no separate color corrector needed 👍

I want to explain something too. That colors are for blue undereye (orange correct blue) but if you have orange/brown undereye you should use a blue corrector. I'm very fair with browny undereye so I use a lilac corrector.

Just get the warm shade version of whatever tone you are in a full or medium buildable coverage concealer (if you are older, rewind by Maybelline is divine and cheap). No one needs to do all that. If you are already a warm skin tone, chances are the circles are less pronounced anyway and concealer is almost always sufficient. If you're fair to medium, the warmest shade (in fair, light to medium categories) is great for cools and neutrals and even olives. Also, don't use a lighter on concealer under eyes. Reverse racoon is still...a racoon.

Some people actually need all that, unfortunately. Can't explain it coz my sinuses is killing me rn, but availability of product also comes to mind. Easier to get a corrector than your perfect shade.

After applying my "red tone" corrector I apply a green to the top and as you blend it melts together and makes the perfect skin tone for me. I don't use concealer anymore.

Everyone has different aesthethic views! But I’d suggest that you use a orange eye shadow under your eye and blend it like that. So you won’t waste your products! (Btw you may want to use a VERY FLUFFY eyeshadow brush)

I use a green color corrector under my eyes! My eye bags are reddish so it helps out A LOT. I also put it around my mouth and sides of my nose, where there's redness.
