Hello everyone! I've had a lot of people ask for a tutorial and I never want to do one because I don't feel qualified... so this is the closest thing! LOL For the first 6 minutes or so I'm choosing colors and seeing how they blend with each other and trying to get an overall sense of how I want the picture to look... then I move on to laying down flat colors and then shading and highlights. I try to explain a bit of what I'm doing as I go along and my thought process.... maybe it makes sense maybe it doesn't. Either way, it's a long video with a lot of talking and mumbling and coloring! Love you!

I love the skin. I have never coloured in a pop manga book before so I was unsure of what colours to use for skin but with your direction I know what to do now. Thank-you. Great picture. ☺

Do you start out with light then transition all the way to dark? AND, Do you use light pressure throughout?

Hi please can I ask what colouring pencils do you use. I found theses books did some googling and found you. 🥰 and wanted to buy this book.for my son. But not sure on the pencils.yours seem like they have a beautiful mix of colours. And not basic ones. Beautiful colouring by the way. 😊

Thank you so much! I use Prismacolor colored pencils. I just moved to the UK and I’m noticing that they aren’t as available as they are in the states… hopefully they can be found online because they really are my favorite pencils! 🧡

How are you getting so many layers down on thin smooth paper? And no wax bloom that I can see?

I can usually layer up colored pencils on any paper as long as it has the tiniest bit of tooth… I’ll just keep smooshing more color into if I can! As for the wax bloom… no idea! 😂 I should take a look at it today and see if it ever happened… 🧐🧡

@@KimballsCorner I struggle with smooth paper and pencils. The paper in this book is good but so smooth. Maybe I’m not being light enough

@@Becca-UK hmmm I don’t know. I tend to go pretty heavy when starting with my coloring and then slowly lighten up the pressure when I’m blending into another color. And I just took a peek at it and there really isn’t any wax bloom… which is a bit weird. I guess keep playing around and experiment until you find what works for you on the paper. I wish I could be of more help but I can’t do much unless we were arting together. 🧡

@@KimballsCorner Thanks 🙏 I will keep practicing. I have a few good sets of pencils that I’ve collected over the years and haven’t used yet. Do you only use prismacolor? I have prismacolor, faber castell, Caran dache luminescence, derwent Inktense, colour soft, drawing pencils. Which do you think I should start with? Can’t decide and then just end up not doing any lol. Have you tried any other than prismacolor? 🥰

@@Becca-UK Prismacolor is definitely my go to for colored pencils but I also have Jane Davenport Magic Wands (the Skin Care collection is my favorite formula), Derwent colored pencils but I don’t know if it’s a specific type or if they only have one kind of colored pencil, and a few Faber Castell and Kohinoor (don’t really like either of these two). I also have some random ones that I only use to sketch with. When it comes to watercolor pencils I have some Inktense, Jane Davenport water wands and Aquapastels, Tim Holtz Distress, Neocolor II and a couple other randoms. I think you should use the ones you have most of or ones that you can buy open stock so you can replace one pencil at a time when needed. They don’t sell Prismacolor in store here in the UK so I buy a bunch of my favorite colors when I visit my parents. 😆 If we end up living here forever I’ll probably switch to Derwent since everyone sells them. 🧡
