I colored my hair this evening using Loreal Excellence Creme Triple Care Color Black Brown #2 instructions didn't say to apply creme around the edges before coloring process and my package came with a caring gentle PH post color shampoo. The lightweight nourishing mask smells divine. I've always used loreal products including face care. This is a brand a trust

Why does it say do not use the pre-color treatment if you've never colored your hair before? That includes getting it done at the salon, right? I've never attempted to color my hair before. This looks hard. I'm tempted to take it back.

I wonder how important it is to do an allergy test 48 hrs in advance? I've never had anybody do an allergy test on me (to my knowledge) when I've had my hair colored at the salon.

The instructions say to apply on dry unwashed, well, I have to wash my hair before applying it as it's got hairspray build up in it along with mouse products. Do I shampoo AND condition my hair or just shampoo? This question/answer should be on the pack somewhere as a colour takes much faster if the hair had NO conditioner in it,.

Yes, I agree, conditioner should not be applied before colouring hair (not even on the hairline) The Pre-Colour Treatment needs to be applied though; it comes in the box. To answer your question, after immediately colouring my hair, I never use shampoo, only conditioner. I shampoo 5-7 days later as this gives times for the colour to sink into each hair strand ; after shampoo, I then condition. However, do whatever suits you best.
