profitable traders have weapons from both sides. leading and lagging ... and we still get stuff wrong. no one hits 100%. be happy if you can make to 80%. but even a 50 / 50 trader can make tons if the quality of the wins is good. Say you lose half your trades but your winners are worth twice your losers costs. so.... 5 of 10 die but the 5 that win are worth 10. you are up 5.

My best swing trades have always been achieved with the combination of a lagging and leading indicator. But I never really even thought of leading indicators as indicators. Fib was just fib. Support was just support. Articulating it like you have in this video is eye opening! While I agree with you in principle my strategy evolved from noticing the context in which certain indicators gave incorrect signals. So basically my strategy is actually three or four strategies, like specialist players in a team. For example, I favour Supertrend but during a Bollinger Squeeze it fails every time, so in that case I switch to Stochastic as the main indicator, all the while using EMA slope to confirm the micro-trend. So for me it's about knowing when to pass the ball to another player with a different skill set. And yes I am developing a bot but this is neither and ad nor financial advice.

After watching your video, I finally understand. In fact, it is enough to use macd to see if it is up or down on the 0 axis, and then use bullish engulfing or bearish engulfing. The indicator is just to see if it is in the high or low position. The rsi indicator is not very useful. The reaction seems to be clear without the high and low positions of the kd indicator. Now I feel that looking at the candle chart seems to have finally understood something, thank you

for leading indicator i prefer to use open interest combined with total longs/shorts in the given market. it works great when price is in a range predicting the future break out. it would be great if TSM would do video about it

Volume leads price, with low volume giving way to higher volume over time. What it does not do is provide direction. It allows you to anticipate a breakout and as you eloquently stated, using oscillators to confirm direction. Getting in a little late on a stop order eliminates risk and you are in, with the market moving in the direction you anticipated.

i had a lot of experience with macd. Its my favorite indicator. if you analyze the line levels above and below the histogram, the inclination, you can predict something before it happen. It never fails me. The thing is that some people only rely on shitty macd analysis, the ones that tells "buy when macd crosses above the signal line", those ideas won't work if you don't read the price and macd properly, its divergences, confluences and so on. Every indicator is more powerful than it seems. Like a fast MA crossing a slow MA can predict sometimes if you look upon its inclination. But of course, the moving averages do lag if read only by the cross spots.

This is the only video that says osicillators like RSI and Stochastic aren't leading indicators. And makes sense.
