I have a Rode video mic go 2...since I updated the IOS to 6.6 on my iPhone 11 I am unable to connect my external mic to my iphone. I realise it when the voice recording that I did showed terrible distortion and I realised it was because my external mic wasn't detected and hence not connected as input source ....

Can you not also use an XLR to usb-C cable directly on your iPad Air? It seems so easy, no need for an adapter yet I haven’t seen anyone mentioning this.

Hi, have you updated your iPad to the latest OS version? If not then go into settings and check for any OS/software updates. I believe this contains updates to help connect external drives.

My shure mic came with xlr cable. So that’s won’t connect it to iPad? I’m connecting it through go vocal pro mobile amp but I can’t get any sound to come through my headphones

iPad doesn’t have a XLR port. You’ll need a XLR to Lightning adapter (for example). Or an adapter for whichever port your iPad has.

I bought a blue yeti nano and I connect it to my ipad air 2020 with a generic adapter, the sound of the video and the recorder simply does not improve, it is very low with the microphone, I am desperate, can I find a solution so that when recording the video Is the sound better with said microphone? help me, friend

Have you tried using one of Apple’s certified adapters? Generic ones may not be certified, and may not work as expected. If you use a certified adapter from Apple and continue to have the same issues, then you’ll know for sure it’s not the adapter.

I thought TRRS has 3 segments and TRS has 2?

TS has two metal segments, TRS has three, and TRRS has four. The metal segment number corresponds to the name - Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve = four metal segments.

ok I'm back and I'm actually ready to record onto iPad mini and iPad Pro and mbp using garage band I reviewed this tut and it explains everything I need except if I have a 1/4 inch plug but I'm thinking I should get a 1/4 to 5/8 trs to trrs to lighting adapter or usb-c adapter thanks for this tut😁@@TheReviewFella
