Depending on the PTZ IP camera. Some IP PTZ cameras you can use the regular PoE ports on the NVR or the PoE switch. Most cases you need to run an independent line for power that's usually 24V AC. but if you have a High Power PoE switch then the setup should be the same as setting up any other type of IP camera. Some IP PTZ cameras come with a PoE injector designed for the PTZ.

The UNV cameras are IEEE802.3 af compliant. You will need a NVR or switch that supports IEEE802.3 af, or IEEE802.3 at.

HI, what you can do is simply have a PoE Switch at the garage and connect the IP cameras that are going to be at the garage to it and then connect the UpLink port of the PoE Switch to your Router. The cameras that are going to be installed at the house if the NVR has a built-in PoE ports then connect them all there. If Not then you need another PoE switch to connect the IP cameras to it and the PoE Switch to the router as well as the NVR. Hope this helps =)

Hello, the 172.16.0.# scheme is that of the internal PoE address of Uniview. Please use EzTool to re-address the camera to the Lorex Internal PoE address. Use the ONVIF protocol and port 80 when adding the cameras. Be sure to enter the correct password.

@@GBrotto You may need to check within the Lorex knowledge - the Internal PoE address is typically listed as "Internal PoE address" or "Switch IP" or "Internal address"

Hi, the built in PoE switch should only be limited to cameras. The cameras connected to this switch must use the internal IP address scheme. To add more cameras through an external PoE switch: Please use EzTools to modify the IP address of the cameras so they are on the same network as your recorder's LAN. Once they are configured with addresses, you may add them to the recorder.

You cannot wire a camera directly to the uplink port on the NVR. You can wire an external PoE switch to the NVR but you will still need to create a mock network with valid IP addresses, on the same network address scheme.

Please click "PTZ" while the camera is selected in the app. You will be able to use pinch to zoom or the zoom and focus buttons below the live image.

Manually that exactly what it means. You need any of that information to add the Ip Camera. If you plugged the IP camera on the back of the unit then you dont need to do anything else. it will be plug & play as long as the IP camera is the same UNV Brand.

Hello. We currently don't have any ip camera that you can connect directly to fiber. but what you can use it a PoE switch that has the Fiber Optic interface and you can Daisy chain them. for example if you have many cameras you connect all those cameras to the PoE switches and then one PoE Switch connect it to the second PoE switch via the Fiber optic interface and then the second switch connect it to the main fiber optic hub. Treat the fiber optic the same way as CAT5

NVR connects to a router which does not require PoE switch, in theory Ethernet cable can run upto 300ft. Your NVR and Router can be as far as 300ft in cable distance.

Some IP cameras have audio built in. Not every camera has Audio.

Because you connected basically all IP cameras on the back of the NVR you will only see one IP address and that is the one for the NVR. Keep this in mind. The NVR has a LAN Port. The LAN port is what you connect to a network or a router and you can assign the IP address to the NVR. The PoE ports on the NVR they act as an INTERNAL NETWORK created by the NVR that is separate from the LAN. if you want to see all IP addresses then you will need to connect them this way. 1. Both of the UPLINK ports of the External PoE Switches need to be connected to the Router. the LAN port of the NVR needs to be connected to the Router as well. Connect a Laptop or any computer and use IP TOOLS software so you can find all IP cameras on the network and assign an IP address to each camera and then ADD THEM MANUALLY to the NVR. Usually when people watch their system remotely they only have 1 IP and that's the IP of the NVR.
