How to connect your Sony camera to your mobile phone using the Sony Imaging Edge mobile app. The Sony Imaging Edge app works with most Sony cameras such as the a7siii, a7c, a7iii, a6600, a6400, a6100, etc.

To connect your Sony camera to your mobile phone follow these steps:
1. Download the Sony Imaging Edge app on your phone
2. Create an account within the app
3. Go into the menu of your Sony camera and turn on control with smartphone, then select connection.
4. Connect your phone to your camera using QR code or password
5. Start controlling your Sony camera with your mobile phone

The icon for Imaging Edge on my phone screen has the number 2 on it.... (Like an email app icon showing 2 emsils received). What is the 2 referring to and how do i remove the numbers? Thanks!

Mine is SONY A6000.. I don't have the connect with smartphone option. I was able to use this app before, I don't have any idea what happened. I've read threads and watched several videos already, 😭

My question is when you connect have you tried any applications where the app recognizes the Sony as being connected and uses that cam instead of the phone camera? 🤭 That’d be something. Maybe an IOS limitation.

With the A6500, it is not the same procedure. First make sure the Airplane mode is off (Wireless option) then go to "Application" menu / Application list / Smart Remote Embedded. A QRcode will be displaid on the screen of the A6500. Then folow the instructions. That's work fine for IOS ;-). J-Claude from Paris.

Does anyone know how to connect an HDR-AS15.... i use to have no trouble with connecting to it with an samsung S4 using the play memories App. Now, NOTHING WORKS. Image edge is a hunk of junk!

Flat out does NOT work.... a6400/samsung zflip4. Immediately says disconnected when it finally reads the qr code. Other options are the same... so disappointed in Sony..

Ugh I have A6000, I got it to work by connecting my iphone to the wifi network that is of the camera and then from the app it uploaded my camera photos into the app, from there you can save it onto your phone. I regret buying this camera!

Doesn't work at all with my A7rIV. Totally useless app. No focus button (touch screen is not responding). Everything else works...but what's the point taking blurry pictures? Sony should come up with better options (at least for controlling some of their 4000$ + cameras). 😂😂😂😂 Everyone else here seem to have their own different issues with the app...it's almost hilarious!! Hahahaha!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the video!!!👍

The app wanted too much information from me so I decided not to finish the install. Total invasion of privacy. I just couldn’t believe it so I stopped and said .. see ya. 💪 The app kept telling me they have the right to USE. And SHARE my personal information.

Actually, when you got to the point, it was quite good. But I wanted to know how to get geotagging on my photos. And that was not in the video. The Sony software is really crappy regarding this.

A real shitty app! Complicated to install. My reason for using this app is to get geotags on my pictures. And... if I'm out on a trip taking pictures, I often get problems with the connection to the phone. I say; stay away from these cameras! Why could Sony put a GPS chip in the camera as every cheap phone has? Well, actually I know why. It`s because of the shitty battery time on the camera!
