i bought a stream deck on sale three days ago because i thought it would at least help me manage OBS scenes and automatically tweet when we're live. then i took it out of the box, opened the program, and my mind has been blown. i can do so much with this thing! it's going to change my life :D

Nice!! Yeah, it really has sped up my working life no end. I mostly use it for opening folders, files and webpages that I utilise on a regular basis, but I reckon I could get a lot more out of it if I sat for 10 minutes and gave it some thought. Gotta find 10 minutes first! hahaha

You can also open programs directly via personal keyboard shortcuts using the windows properties for the program (right-click, properties).

Hi Paul. Great vid. I'd really like to use my StreamDeck to control a program called Resolume. Currently I use a Midi Controller to trigger columns of media simultaneously, but I would so love to be able to name or have a pretty icon for each column of clips. Got to love it when you can repurpose gadgets to have multiple uses, expensive if used solely as a home automation hub but good value if you use it to its full potential for gaming set ups too

Will thanks to this video and you I am figuring out how to use IFTTT with a Stream Deck like program called Touch Portal. The only thing I can't figure out is how to stop it from opening the web page telling me the command was successful. It doesn't have the option to to tell the trigger to run in the background like stream deck, at least not that I can find.

Thanks Paul, I've been using it and it does work really well but there is just one problem that's a bit annoying,, when I click on a tile to perform a task it then leaves the page I'm on and displays a white screen with an 'ok' confirmation but then if I want to activate another tile I have to go back to the homepage before the tiles are visible again to use,, it would be great if after clicking a tile it would stay on the same page but I can't find anything in the settings to help with this, have you any ideas yourself?,

If you want to trigger a group of devices through alexa routines, use an IFTT extension called Voice Monekey. I can turn all my lights on/off without the need for a trillion buttons.

I have tried multiple times to get this to work with my WIZ Bluetooth connected plugs that control my main overhead studio lights to no avail. I created the Webhooks, yet WIZ does not seem to be regularly operate like the other functions any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How does the lamp turn on that fast? I use IFTTT and made it so when my phone connects to my charger it is supposed to turn my bedside lamp off, but sometimes it takes several minutes before IFTTT sends the command to my lamp.

Hey dude, the only option for using the same key to toggle stuff is "Hotkey switch". I'm not at home at the moment so don't know if it can be used to trigger website addresses though! At the beginning of the video I'm just using two separate keys to fire two separate URLs to trigger two separate IFTTT recipes. Hope that helps! -P

Not sure if you've figured this out yet, but in your stream deck control panel, on the right where you see the actions you can add, choose "more actions" at the very bottom. You'll be see a list of all kinds of things to install, spotify controls are one of them.

Nice gadget there. I'd get one if it wasn't that expensive and could be used without it being connected to the PC. I wonder if I could get my hands on a bunch of those Amazon buttons, strip them down, build a small box with those buttons, and program them to do certain things. Which reminds me you could use the http bridge in the rm pro to control the ir and rf devices using URL commands, which probably has a faster response than IFTTT

not just 15 buttons. you can go unlimited layers deep. thousands of buttons.... you just need to make sure they are organised properly to make use of them

Bizarrely enough having mixed a lot of music I know what you mean, but no. Back then I don't think I was even using a single band compressor!

Superb idea! I really like stringify, I was playing with it whilst making next week's video, but I didn't end up using it as part of the solution I was implementing for a couple of reasons. Next week's video is gonna be interesting! I bit off more than I thought I was gonna be able to chew with the tutorial, it's a monster!

Stream Deck seems incompatible with my stock broker's trading platform. I can't even use the text button to enter text into a text field, much less us Hot Keys that I mapped to buttons on my Stream Deck. The manufacturer, therefore, needs to make full disclosure of incompatibilities to reduce the number of customers needing a refund of the purchase price.

I would install Geforce Experience and setup shadowplay. They have a built-in screenshot function using Alt + F1.

If you're anything like me and just got screwed over by ewelink and ifttt with your streamdeck set up. For ewelink you need to go to home assistant using the sonoff add on (Prepare for hours of brainhurt if you're a dumbass like i am) for broadlink you can still use ifttt just set up different ifttt accounts because 3 custom applets is trash.

Just a thought I'm having while researching this, but this product feels like the Mac Touchbar that is just separated from the physical computer. Wouldn't you agree?
